Choosing and Evaluating Primary Schools

Hi, needed advice what are the good and popular school around yishun? As we have a house in yishun however was rented out and would like to enquire if we able to use that yishun purchase house address for primary school registration for 2022. What are the procedures needed?

Yishun is very big and popular / good schools mean balloting for SC < 1km. Therefore, where you stay matters.

As for procedures , quite straightforward. Just kick out the tenant and reclaim your house (address). -

Princess Elizabeth Phase 2A2 between 1 to 2km is bao jiak.
Nan Hua Phase 2C < 1km is bao ballot.
Why not apply for Princess Elizabeth first and see whether you have the stomach to ballot for Nan Hua or not. Most people would get cold feet and back out when they realize they have to give up something (confirmed space) to have a chance to ballot at nothing. However, if you decide you are ready to go for Nan Hua and ok with whatever 2CS option, withdraw from PE and reapply at NH. -

PEPS balloted at >2km (green colour) for 2A2 in 2020. It seems to be getting popular among its alumni. Try to join 2A1 (if there’s an alumni association) for guaranteed seat.

If u want to ballot at NHPS, the 2CS school would usually be Pei Tong. -

Go for NH. Reasons, closer to your place means less traveling; it is also GEP school; worse case is Pei Tong is also okay.

I’m intending to give it a shot at CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel via phase 2C. As seen from the stats for the past few years, those living within 1-2km is pretty safe.
As we will be using grandparent’s address for this application (1-2km category), is it a “sure in” for this year? -
