Agreed. Easier to just da bao. Get the phone number of your favorite zi char stall and just place order a few hours in advance, self-collect. U may need to re-plate for better presentation. Suggested items:

      Fried bee hoon
Hor fun with or without gravy
      Fried prawn paste chicken
Stir fried veggies with garlic (non spicy)
Sweet & sour meat (pick your meat)
      Lemon chicken
If u want to be more atas, butter or salted egg crab/prawns
…plenty of choices that can also be reheated with microwave prior to serving if u wish

slmkhoo, if you've eliminated spicy items, then you have to stick to Chinese restaurants like Peach Garden, Soup Restaurant, Paradise Group, Putien, Pin Si, but you need to check the 10 pax menus.

I like Luo Hua Tang (Cantonese stir-fried dishes). I'm always ordering my dinner from LHT via foodpanda.

They gave me their catering pamphlet; that's how I learnt they also venture into catering business now! They provide the stainless steel trays with heating.

There are a few ''angmoh-ish'' mini buffets meant for corporate cocktail receptions, but they won't fill your stomachs! I got tricked before ordering from Kriston, Purple Sage. Singaporeans can really eat and eat! So Neo Garden, Rasel, Eatz, Elsie's Kitchen are always popular with company buffets and family parties.

6 March is coming. Don't wait anymore, as there are many caterers busy with Covid-19 SHN contracts. I don't think the MW dorms are allowed to use their communal kitchens yet, right?

Those on foodline are mostly fully booked till 28 Feb! You still dilly dallying?

Guest list is still up in the air, so I don’t even know the final no. yet. Not keen on dabao because it means I have to buy the serving dishes and other stuff and don’t want to be running around on the day. I have a very minimal kitchen with very little stuff. Thanks for all the suggestions and will see what’s available when I know how many I’m catering for.

Can go for potluck. Guests will usually get roast duck or roast chicken, haha. Host will usually fry bee hoon or cook curry chicken.

3rd day of CNY, I ordered 2 grilled fishes from Tan Yu for my guests and they enjoyed it very much cos we all love spicy food. One Green Chilli favor and the other Spicy Beancurd (tastes like mala). Don’t want anymore roast duck/chick, have a change.

So glad I managed to pump my empty tank to full tank yesterday evening. Today’s petrol price indeed went up by 15 cents every litre for 98

Govt trying to push more people to buy EVs. The new Tesla looks soooo good and fast, not to mention the extra luggage space in front where the traditional engine has been removed. The problem now is charging stations. I saw the blurb for one upcoming condo launch, only ONE miserly charging station for the entire condo??!

Potluck not suitable for this dinner - semi-official (on behalf of the organisation I work at). But yes, my preference is usually potluck for friends - we’re having one this Saturday.

Try orange clove. I feel Neo garden is like economy rice stall....
Orange Cloves is under Neo Group. Neo Garden and Orange Cloves are sister companies.

For those who don’t mind paying a bit more for better quality food for your guests, Orange Cloves is the one. The food is nice and more atas. Neo Garden is more economical, I only remember their signature curry chicken is nice.[/quote]

Depends on budget… purple sage, thumbs up. Saw a promotion for 10 pax on their site… check it out! My ex-company used them and it was yummy.

Laohuotang has mini buffet for 10 pax looks good too. Slightly cheaper than purple sage.
