I guess RP87.5 and above to call for an interview
There is a short listing process, not all will be called up for interview/test, both school the same.
NTU required BMAT taken a year earlier...

Dear all, can anyone guide NUS medicine application procedure. Civic tutor reference need to send when lodge the application or later?

I think usually the civics tutor reference is good to have during the application period, it will be compulsory to have after the interview. So really no need to waste time chasing at the beginning.

        Thanks for the reply..

Let’s say if the student just meet the cut-off of 87.5, is it advisable to also apply via ABA (ability based admission) to gain a higher chance of being considered?

Just guessing…this year may see some increase in applicants for local med school, pandemic related.

There was this girl being accepted and started yr1 in last intake, that was after she has completed 1 year med school in another continent (she lost 1 yr). Not known how and never ask, probably there were good ground from the school.

ABA is another possible path, if the applicant has proven record representing the country/national level, worth thinking this route. In some cases when normal application path did not yield a call up for interview/test, either take gap year (girl) or serve the NS (boy), or take the ABA path, reapply again next yr. But, once not selected after interview/test, cannot reapply.

Almost like open secret, min 87.5 has a fairly good chance to be call up in normal path.
Between 87.5 - 90RP; the diff isn’t that significant, think of the submission details (achievements other than academic, what makes him/her stands out in the eyes of the screening committee).

Unconfirmed information, every year 2-3k applicants for the limited places.
Roughly 1 in 3 will be offered in those call up cases…
So, 1 step at a time. Decide a path, invest time to prep the submission details with some thoughts…finally, pray.

Perfectly alright to ask anything, willing parents will try to share…

If google and check is the way forward, why bother to create forum chat treads…
