Iām intending to give it a shot at CHIJ Our Lady of Good Counsel via phase 2C. As seen from the stats for the past few years, those living within 1-2km is pretty safe.
As we will be using grandparentās address for this application (1-2km category), is it a āsure inā for this year? -

Both options are quite bad to be honest.Ivylim1124\" post_id=\"2011628\" time=\"1610292090\" user_id=\"190707:
Hi I'm newbieš¤
Would like to ask as we sold our house in punggol and consider move to BoonKeng
for Hong Wen or new condo in Hougang for Holy innocent. My SG50 boy only eligible for 2C for both option. Any review or advice? Thks!
For Phase 2C, you are at most guaranteed a chance of balloting if you are < 1km. Above 1km, you wonāt even stand a chance. Given that the risk of being balloted out is high (slightly better odds than 50% for Hong Wen, slightly lower than 50% for Holy Innocent), it may not be really worth the $ and time.
If you are really going to do the tikam-tikam, you may as well go for CHS, ACSJ, ACSP or SJIJ at probably similar odds. Otherwise, pick a school (such as SAJS or MSHS) where you are almost guaranteed of a place so that the $ and time isnāt wasted.
Just to update as we sold our house and bought the new one under construction official possession delivery date is 12/2024, called MOE said can't use new unit address for P1 registration. Anyway, we need to rent unit at hougang, so we will still try Holy innocent under 2C within 1km. Can advise gouging area any other primary school which is good to consider as back up plan? Any review on North Vista primary school? I also understand SG50 balloting is scaryš -

For back up, there really arenāt many options. Itās either North Vista or Xinghua. If you are lucky, Montfort Junior may be available as option for ballot (which you can go for, since failing the ballot will most likely result in being posted to North Vista or Xinghua also). -
Yes riverfront residences.
North vista is consider good? Any reason of Xinghua primary school being so unpopular in last of the list of sg popular primary school?š -

Frankly speaking, most of the primary schools in SK and HG 大åå°å¼. The exceptions are probably Holy Innocent (SAP), NCPS and the few missionary schools.

My guess is Xinghua cannot escape from factors arising from demographics. Itās not located in a particularly young part of Hougang. Furthermore, the schoolās catchment isnāt big as more than a quarter to nearly half of its catchment area under 2km are industrial estates. -
Hi,
I would like to know if anyone has feedback/review on sembawang primary school and wellington primary school.
Thanks. -
What you can do to get feedback and review of the primary school is to stand outside the schoolās gate before school and after school.
Observe the parents and the students getting to school.
You can see the students demographics, and culture - as well as other physical traits (eg do they behave well, how did they interact with their classmates, their parents, are they physically fit, etc.)
These will be the folks, the population that your child will be mixing in.
Last time, we can go into the school canteen to see how they ābehaveā during recess.
Now with security etc, it is more difficult.
