Is there any resources to help the child who needs more practice in 短文填空 and 词语应用， besides past year paper? Would you recommend the child to do 2020 and 2019 Chinese and HCL Paper from various school for the booklet A section? I am not sure if the current P6 syllabus is the same for older past year papers. Thanks!

You may want to check out these 2 books for extra practice on 词语应用 and 短文填空 (the skills set and technique involved is similar to questions 5 and 6 under 词语应用, i.e. 词语选择, with the main difference being Q5 & 6 are in the form of sentences, whereas the questions in 短文填空 comes with passage/paragraph contextual clues).

The current P6 syllabus came into effect last year, thus for practice on Paper 2 Booklet A Sections 1 and 2, it will be more advisable to use 2020's past year papers. That said, Q9-12 (i.e. 虚词选择 & 完成句子) from earlier years' papers can still be used as practice as they test on 虚词 (function words) and reading & analytical skills.
