Hi all,

Am preparing to register my daughter next year. While I’m planning to sign up for PV, namely Mgs or plmgps- does having to stay within the 1km/1-2km range still hold under 2B? And were there any stats for ppl in phase 2b who lived more than 2km away? Or should I just forget it since I live outside 2km at the moment, and focus on renting a place nearer to the sch first. Thanks! This process is really doing my head in.

if im not wrong, for MGS, 2B out of 2KM is out. no need to ballot. lets wait for guru to answer PLMGPS.

PLMGS 2B all in. MGS 2B <1km ballot.

That is, assuming you get accepted as PV. AFAIK, PV is rarely offered to applicants who are > 2km.

Thanks! Do you know where I can get the exact breakdown for the schools? And would you know what it’s like for PV in SMGPS ? As well as ACJS, SJIJ and SAJS?

Just apply first and see whether they accept u. Nothing to lose, right? In your application, u can state (Eg. Next to your current address) that u are willing to move nearer to the school if necessary.

Do note that many of the 2B applicants are church members. If they are not able to move <1km of MGS to join the balloting, then PLMGS would be their next best choice. So if u really like the school, during your PV stint, u can already shop around and move closer.

I live in a area where the schools are either 1-2km or just slightly over 2km

SMPS has suspended its PV program during this Covid period (see their school website). Their PVs used to do traffic warden duties during 7am to 7.30am.

SAJS has also suspended their PV scheme: https://www.saintandrewsjunior.moe.edu.sg/
There used to be many SA secondary old boys (not primary school alumni) who joined the PV scheme because they loved the secondary school culture there & wanted their boys to experience the same in primary school.

ACS (both Junior and Primary) and SJIJ do not have any PV scheme for 2B.

So it seems like 2B doors are closed for u.

2CS probably backup Guangyang, Townsville and Ang Mo Kio.
