I believe it's the same. -
The topics are the same but the depth is sec 1 and sec 2 standard.

Really? Didn't know that. Oh well... I guess as long as the kids are enjoying the process of the GE curriculum. -

Hi, don't see you at the other thread for GEP 2013 P4.
Anyway, my dd is doing ok and seems to be enjoying the GEP journey mostly. After this round of exams tho, I wonder if she will change her mind!
How has your child been coping? -

I came across this post and just thought that my experiences could help. ^^
GEP was a huge jump for me. My strongest subject was Mathematics, but I dropped from a 99, 100 marks student in P3 to a 50+ marks student in P4. It really was hard to accept that I was almost failing in my class but the fact that my parents were not putting a lot of emphasis on my results (yes, the clichéd "As long as you do your best") really made me feel that my results do not determine my worth.
My parents couldn’t really help me with my work due their busy schedules and occasional complexity of Math questions (Permutations is a university topic according to my dad). But even so, them staying up to check on me while I attempted to finish my work gave me moral support and that again helped me a lot.
I was able to rely on my friends for help and we would occasionally head to each other’s houses and cram Math, Science or even English a few days before an examination. (Not encouraged though, we should all prepare earlier on hindsight :x) The bonds and friends I’ve gained are something that had and still is keeping me going even during tough times. Just like before, we still study together, and make sure that we are doing okay (academically and emotionally).
I think that the biggest form of support would be to just show that you are there for your child (who could be really stressed now because of the Common Tests). It could just be checking in when your child is stressed out over a really tough Social Studies worksheet, or just bringing your child out to enjoy himself/herself while forgetting about his work for a while. ^^
