      Just for understanding...
Out of the 20+ med students that I get to meet (smallsmall bigbig gathering at my place).
      7 only apply 1 course (NUS/NTU med)...all says \"Only want to study med\", willing to take a gap-year
*2 already received offer from overseas med school; these 2 took-up the offer from NUS. (I guess is fee related)
*3 received double offer; all took-up with NUS (all accepted NUS on the very last day of offer closing date...so, some truth in waitlist moving faster in NTU)
*1 gets in on 2nd application while serving NS, 2 years older than the batch.

All from JCs and at least 8 are not perfect RP.
Among stories ..a young couple (friends of med-student), boy got into NTU, girl got double offers. the girl went to NTU. Many circumstances and scenario...

Are these med students that you meet from this year batch? the offers out already?

They are the batch from 2019 intake, ended yr 2, starting yr 3 soon.

During our time waiting for offer in 2019; learnt from some helpful parents, offer from NTU came around last week of Apr, and NUS came on 1st week of May.

Trust that all waiting for offer has prep and given 101% in effort; ALL THE BEST to the parents for supporting & co-starring this journey... :xedfingers:

My DS applied NUS medicine as 1st choice and dentistry as 2nd choice. Got invite for medicine interview but he didn't go. No reply for dentistry.
        He may re-apply next year

oh wow? any particular reason he didn't go? i think not all are invited for interview.

He said he is not ready to go yet. He is in NS now. Anyway he went for NTU MMI, with 2 stations among 8 stations were screwed up.
Based on uncomfirmed source, NUS got 3000 applications, 1000 got interview invite, and 350 will get offer (although only 280 vacancies).

Hi! I am parent of my son of last year’s 2020 Kiasuparents Medicine. As parent it was an exciting and nail biting time at this stage anticipating the final outcome of the finalization of results.

Well, my son did not get to study Medicine even though he had gone through both MMI interviews at NUS and NTU. Remember the many processes he had to go through with the submission applications. Coupled he was also enlisted into serving NS and got very tight up with grueling training and hard time getting permission to attend the MMI interviews. Thus the tiredness of a full concentration to fully apprehend the questions being asked.

That year 2020, many brightest students did not get into studying Medicine being the selection criteria was diversified and also we were into a COVID crisis. Even though my son did not get into medicine but another opportunity was opened for him. He was given a Scholarship to study Biomedical Sciences & Biobusiness (Double Major). If he still has the burning passion for Medicine, he still could continue to pursue his study at DUKE-NUS to obtain an MD in Medicine. Compare to MBBS in Medicine which take 6 years, the road to an MD with NTU-DUKE-NUS takes 10 years. So it is all up to one’s passion and love for Medicine.

To all kids and parents here, all roads lead to Rome and it could only come true if you go all out to do your best regardless of any outcome.

Wishes everyone the very bless outcome!

3000 applications? So all 3000 should be all straight A's students? 1000 got interview invite? So even the straight A's did not get invite? So the selection not just based on A level scores?[/quote]Not only all As. including those who got one B. Also those who got 2Bs applied through ABAS. and Foreign students application.
I believe those who got perfect RP90 called for interview.

To get into studying Medicine is very hard even though one may have very good academic results. The total annual quota combined for the 3 medical universities intake is at 500 students (e.g. NUS around 300, NTU around 140 and DUKE-NUS around 60). So you need a lot of luck besides good academic background to be accepted into Medicine.

With this year A-Level result , how many times can try for NUS/NTU medicine? If got rejected this year, able to apply next year also ?
Only those who has been selected to go for the MMI intetviews or gone through the interviews and did not get in to study Medicine can try to apply again via ABAS for next round of admission application. Those did not get selected for interviews after applying will not get a 2nd chance for reconsideration through ABAS.
