MGS IP(IB) Year 1 used to be 2 classes, then increased to 3 and currently 4 classes.

Just a short note on an interesting point: schools get extra capitation grant per student for IP classes vs standard classes. When we were running first batch of IP(IB) at ACS(I), we were allowed 120 places at first; then the year before we were supposed to start the IB, they told us to jack it up to 360 for economic reasons. Wow, it was panic stations, I had to run around 'stealing' resources to make it work.

360 places...! Does this number translate to 9 IP(IB) Sec 1 classes ?? Hope I did not understood this incorrectly. If so, does it mean MGS is planning to progressively increase its enrollment size for its 6-yr IP(IB) till a max of 9 classes?
Would there be any change in its number of Olevel Sec 1 classes??

No, MGS will not do that. Their IP(IB) students end up at ACS(I). ACS(I) has over 450 IB students now per batch; was supposed to be at 120 when planned and jacked up to 360 in first year. MGS IP(IB) will remain small; they can't send too many students to ACS(I) anyway, there isn't enough space.

Just to clarify, the 450 IB students include BOTH ACS(I) IP (IB) & O-Level Programme (Express stream), right?

          Thanks.

Is current MGS IP intake at Year 1 capped at 80? How many places are set aside for DSA?

Integrated Programme: 4 classes (about 120 students)

I know some IP schools admit 30% to 35% of IP intake via DSA. MGS should be the same?

                  All the best.

Any idea how many places are available for Year 2 Express kids to be promoted to Year 3 IP?

Anyone knows how many non-MGS Year 2 kids can transfer to Year IP in MGS? I have been searching but could not find any data.

ahhh... your post was referring to ACS(I)(IB) Yr 5-6 & implying a minority of its pupil population is from MGS (as quoted above \"MGS IP(IB) will remain small\". in other words, MGS IP(IB) Sec 1 enrollment size stays <=120 (~4 classes). thank you.

IIRC, around 10 (MGS and non-MGS) in total.
