They showed symptoms around 7 May and sought treatment around 10 May.

Besides being vigilant, it's important to visit the doctor if unwell.

It's always been known that vaccination is not 100% effective in preventing the disease. But it has been effective in preventing serious disease, and probably in spreading disease. If not for vaccination, who knows how bad it would be now? Once more people are vaccinated, because they spread less and fewer will get infected, such clusters should be small and short-lived. And there will be fewer who get seriously sick even if they get it.

I must say while the key purpose of vaccine is to prevent serious disease and death, I am also slightly surprised at the level of breakthrough infections (and also reinfections) in Singapore given the supposed low level of viral cloud and viral prevalence in the community.

I’m just very thankful that vaccination for the elderlies have been done earlier before this wave of fast spreading B1617 and other imported variants. I believe this hv prevented much new elderly infections apart fr those infected at TTSH. I’m hoping this vaccination exercises can be sped up & to include all school-going children.


Pray our elderlies are kept protected and we continue with vaccination for the rest of our residence and we conduct mindful social responsibilities with proper wearing of masks & hygiene practices. Keep safe everyone!

This round is more serious than last yearś dorm cases. For dom cases, we can shut down to isolate the dorms. For community cases, how many more places we can shut down?

I know this is a highly unpopular thing to say/do - but I feel that we cannot afford to keep shutting down businesses and venues for protracted periods every time there is a case. (Premise disinfection takes only a day at max.) This is a very costly intervention.


Maybe we should target high risk activities, particularly indoor dining. For the sake of our economy, and for learning, I do think we should let these run wherever possible. People are not getting infected from public transport etc, but dining is a high risk activity as people are maskless, and are interacting.

As it is, our community cases have been on the rise as we shut borders to arrivals fr India & Vietnam.

The young kids are increasingly getting infected this round.

As of now, besides EdgeField & VCJ, we have confirmed cases of students from YCK Pri, St Stephen, St andrew, Kong Hwa with pending cases of students fr Qi Fa, & St Joseph pending as of this morning. Apparently, the VJC student who got it from airport passed it to someone at Raymond Math and Science Studio, and this person passed it to a tutor at Learning Point. The tutor teaches at Learning Point Parkway and Century Sq and his/her students were notified and tested. That’s why we see so many schools got involved. Wld be better to revisit our Phase 2 alertness & try stay at home & kids can learn fr home than to roam out, till the cases hv subsided.

I fully agree. We’ve to be on high alert again as everywhere covid is coming in ano wave.

I do find ourselves getting quite smug in Spore. Many shopping malls are throng with ppl and often I get knocked into even whilst I was walking casually with my family. I’m highly conscious to protect my MIL as she’s of highly vulnerable age in her mid-80s. We’ve decided to head for areas near her neigbourhood & even then, S’times we felt as if entire neigbourhood decided to leave home at the same time. People do not always wear their masks properly leaving nose uncovered & many touching their eyes & adjusting masks often.

I guess I’ve to brace myself for ano round of stay-home (not sure how long more esp during resurgence but some say ano 4-5 years) even though at times we’ll get bored & restless. Health is paramount. It’s the toughest for the very elderly & young. Just thankful I’ve my gardening to keep me occupied & we’ve a puppy for company. Hv to restructure our lives to adapt.
