Who can be sure they don’t know someone in their household already tested positive right? As long as they had yet to be informed by MOH, the other immediate family members can leave the house right?

Should be on LOA already. Don’t know why still went to school
Nobody know someone in their family household was tested positive
“Family members” include rental tenants and helpers?
I remember there was once when DD1 had a cough and took a swab. Before DD1’s swab test result was out, I already sent my DD2 to school and I went to the market.
In the event, the swab test is positive, legally speaking, the other family members can still go out as long as they have not received SHN/QO from MOH! -

Does it mean one adult cannot bring 2 kids to school? Say via grab or taxi?
We recognise that there may be occasions where members of the same household may need to move about in groups larger than two persons, especially those with young children or elderly parents in order to look after their higher care needs. These may include taking public transport, going for medical appointments, attending classes or going to work in the same vehicle. We are prepared to be flexible in our implementation of the general rule for such bonafide cases.

For bringing a senior on a wheelchair to the hospital for a medical appointment, can a family member and a helper come along? This two pax rule may be challenging to abide.

Not sure the QO rationale. Could be because when they QO'd the 100 on 7 May and swabbed the rest of the ''secondary contacts\" from 7 May onwards, MOH had not officially established the link btw the student and Changi Airport yet. They probably treated her as an unlinked case at that point in time. They only officially linked her to that Changi cluster on 10 May (need to check) after she reported she went to RMG clinic 3X at T3.
The VJC case was not caught from school either...linked to Changi Airport. Yet 100 schoolmates and teachers on QO. Perhaps Govt realize you cant QO 100 pax for each student case? Would anyone know the QO criteria?.zeit\" post_id=\"2024043\" time=\"1621051702\" user_id=\"171271:
Haven't heard the school staff and pupils being QO'd as they contracted it at the tuition centres. But their tuition mates and tutors/staff are being QO'd now at hotels, and being swabbed.
The Kong Hwa one attended the 3hr lesson at WLC Sun class 9am-12pm. I think the St Stephens or St Andrews one could be at HCL. Both branches are in the East. Apparently, the other branches are not affected as the tutors and admin do not rotate over there to teach...Better call to check.
Esteema mentioned SJI Jr and QiFa, but I have not read anything on MOH website about these 2 new schools.
As for the Edgefield Sec pupil, he remains UNLINKED to date. So they had to quarantine and swab more pp.
My guess is JC and Sec school pupils pose a higher risk as they are more mobile and move from LT to LT, stay back for CCAs/projects and take the public transport.
For the past year, 7-9 year old Pr Sch pupils have been largely confined to their own class/cohort/recess slots and seldom intermingle w one ano during school hours. Most also do not have compulsory CCAs nor national competitions at that lower level. All these minors went to school per normal on 10 May -12 May. :yikes:
MOH didn't reveal the date of their Eng tuition at LP. It might be the previous week/weekend. The LP tutor definitely passed it to them earlier than 9 May. These pupils then went for their respective Chinese tuition classes on Sunday (9 May) at WLC or HCL.
Will have to monitor closely for the next 1-2 weeks if any WLC and HCL tutees get it from these confirmed tuition-mates. And those schoolmates and teachers who came into contact with them must monitor their health too, as there's such a thing called incubation period! -
Don't understand why Singapore (A*star) being a partner/contributor of GISAID did not see B1617 as a variant of concern earlier than WHO's announcement?
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/health/how-a-team-at-astar-played-a-big-role-in-the-global-fight-against-the-covid-19
GISAID had ranked Singapore as the No 4 country that saw the highest no of Indian double mutant imports some months ago.

Yet, the MTF didn't advise CAG/MOT to segregate the arrival halls, toilets, routes taken by visitors from the high-risk South Asian region?! They didn't see the need to put ICA officers and toilet cleaners in PPE? They even put 1 ICA officer who could not take the vaccine due to personal drug allergy at the high-risk frontline? That's an occupational hazard! WSH council please take note. That's totally unacceptable!
Haiz... I was shaking my head when I listened to MOT OYK informing us they've ONLY now decided to segregate their ground staff into higher-risk vs lower-risk zones and protect the workers with PPE! A bit of a knee-jerk reaction ya?
Harlow, the public's been complaining since early April when shocking images of Ganges River rituals, West Bengal election rally crowds surfaced in the papers. Worse, they had access to GISAID data and still didn't want to restrict daily arrivals of non-SC/PRs into Singapore? Sometimes I wonder why these PRs/LTVPs are not residing in Singapore? Why are they still living in their motherland? :scratchhead:
Because the govt felt it their duty to let these PRs, LTVP, STVP and DPs enter (before 2359h, 23 Apr) to flee from the pandemic/visit their SG-based expat sons & daughters/moms & dads, they had to take a risk, despite knowing the visitors could bring in B1617 too?? These dependants don't contribute much to our economy as they live/work, not here. But the PRC and HK tourists & bizmen/expats/investors from HK will, if the ATB isn't burst. After all, it is a \"significant ATB between two aviation and financial services hubs in Asia,” said Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Transport of the Republic of Singapore.
My HK friends had already booked their tickets and were very excited to come here to visit MBS, eat chili crabs and MSW durians. With this no dine-in rule and 2pax gathering restriction, I think there's no chance of coming anymore. My HK relative had already cancelled once in Nov and now will have to cancel again.

Thanks, the Govt just clarified on this point.
Seems like tuition Centers are still allowed to Conduct physical classes as long as the SMM measures are met.
That is great. Online class is never the same as physical class. Young children tends to have difficulty relating to the tutor, no matter how hard he/she tried. -

My guess is that our government focus so far have been on how to open up the economy and keep it open, while taking on the risk of having a few infections occasionally, on assumption that the vaccinated people will reduce R0 sufficiently. This is why they have not been acting until one day, a \"fortress\" aka TTSH fallen, that is when they knew it is them to revisit the assumption that \"vaccinated people do not readily pass on their infection\". -

Star,

I empathize yr situation.
I wld expect the authorities to extend special exception esp with managing elderly. I know how difficult it can be to manage wheelchair, booking tpt, and carrying food/medication. I cldnt handle my mum when she had a stroke as when I was alone trying to carry her over to a chair, I almost ‘dropped’ her due to dead-weight. She was much, much skinner than I was then. Only challenge wld be whether taxi drivers will be worried ‘breaching’ rules or extend the u’stand’g. I wonder if a written letter fr an MP or a GP, (I’m just looking for community help) to pull weight for those managing elderly going out.
