Yes, it is kinda scary. Or maybe it is just inevitable that this new strain will eventually get to all countries.
Even TW doesn't really have that many imports from South Asia but they are also having a mini-wave now.

On the other hand, Europe & USA seems to be reopening up (no masks even) after vaccinating.
So maybe the course of action would be to speed up vaccinations and then accept that this will be around for the long term as long as it doesn't cause too much damage, kind of like how we have flu seasons. We do need to speed up our vaccination though; I suppose supplies are the bottleneck for now.

Saw an article about opening up; pretty insightful.
Either keep bubble-wrapped permanently and shut down any cases immediately or open up while mitigating the risks with vaccinations.

Apparently, scientists are saying the coronavirus is airborne.


Scientists are calling for ventilation systems to be overhauled as infectious aerosols remain concentrated in the air longer in poorly ventilated, confined indoor spaces, said a professor.

This means we’ve got to be even more vigilant as we are confined to lifts, and supermkts or pharmacies are typically in air-cond environment which traps the viruses, unless there are good outward ventilation to draw out & circulate fresh incoming air on a constant basis.

I think that's about right from the Parliament speech. Assuming a population of 5M, this is about 20-30% depending on whether 1 dose is considered vaccinated.

Yep, let's hope the rest of the vaccine stocks come in fast and we don't need to extend the time between doses and can get all our people vaccinated quickly. Plus those under 16 too.
