I do not know the reason for the delay. But bear in mind, the TT Safe Entry check-in was not implemented nationwide until Monday 17 May 2021. Plenty of adults could have been untraceable before then. And the kids would have been untraceable until the school admin could dig up their detailed records...

As much as many like to distrust TT, in hindsight I now think if it has been fully rolled out EARLIER, it would have played a major role in curbing the rampant spread.

The rest like seated close to a stranger at shopping mall, traceable via TT token, can come later lah. Btw, I understand still need to wait for the confirmed case to upload TT token data before MOH can start work (contact tracing).

:yikes: :scared: :shock: I would not be expecting them to still continue working actually, just like how the QO kids should not be expected to keep up with their HBL as if nothing has changed.

I know some of the kids are unable to sleep at night due to their fears and worries, which are very real, more real than any of us who are not locked in like them. They call it a “staycation” to try to keep upbeat, but it’s not.

I can't speak for any of them as I don't know them or their situations personally. But if I were them, I would prefer to keep busy! Of course, if some don't wish to or find it difficult, they shouldn't be forced to, I guess, since they are technically on LOA of some kind. But teachers are responsible people, and they know that their students and colleagues will need \"all hands on deck\" during this period, so if they can, I'm sure most will try to do their part. And for the kids, leisure can get really boring if it's all day, every day, and all in one room; some HBL will break the monotony!

TT is just a tool. It is useless without the resources and policies supporting it. Those who get QO are mostly first degree contacts (i.e. close contacts from workplace, household, class etc) that will have been identified anyway without the TT.

TT is only useful if we intended to move beyond QO-ing only the first degree contacts to second or even third degree contacts. But bear in mind that the resources required for QO grew exponentially with every level of contacts we QO and with diminishing returns on \"catching the hidden positive cases\".

Are you talking about the same confirmed case as Zac’s mum?

If immediate close contacts can be sent to quarantine facilities within 24hours then of cos it would be great. If it takes about 3 days to have them issued QO then it’s too long cos in 3 days the whole class could have left their traces around the whole island liao.

TT would have been more accurate and faster than the current contact tracing they are using now. Just submit the TT data or token to the computer and you can use computers to analyze the data.


At the moment, without TT the confirmed case would probably have to fill up some form to indicate his family members and close contacts. If he does not have his (classmates/teachers/tutors) phone numbers, then MOH has to go thru the school/tuition centre to obtain the phone numbers in order to call them.

Also, if Eg the index case had eaten at the Terminal 3 food court, then his TT data would have allowed MOH to narrow down the contacts to those sitting near him. They could just phone those few people immediately. Don’t need to send out a public appeal to everyone who checked in to the food court that day to go for (voluntary) swab. Look at the long Qs of worried people waiting to be swabbed now, just becos they happened to be at the same malls as the confirmed cases. Could be a whole waste of time & resources like 海底捞针.
