Quick question for a noob/foreigner who has not gone thru local school.

Profile is: LO = SC, mother SC Chinese, father PR ang moh (not sure if any of this is relevant). We did PV so will register under Phase 2B for Henry Park. We share a fence with the school so are within 1km. Question is, since we are registering under 2B, and LO is SC, do we still need to live within 1km of the school? Or not required given Phase 2B? Or is this something that is determined based on the offers in 2B, e.g. to SC within 1km, SC within 1-2km, etc.?

Would greatly appreciate your help as we might need to move and very hard to find any suitable place within 1km.

        1. Parents nationality is not as important as the child’s nationality.

        2. If there are more applicants than places in the phase, distance would be considered. Hence, within 1km is still important cos if there’s balloting for < 1km for HPPS in Phase 2B, all those living outside 1km would not be considered. For reference, HPPS balloted for SC outside of 2km in Phase 2B last year. If I have to take a chance, within 2km should still be safe.

        3. An important consideration if you have to move. You will need to move to somewhere within the same distance priority or better, if a ballot was conducted. Hence, if you intend to use your current address (within 1km) and a ballot was conducted (> 2km like last year), you would have to commit to your address (or another within 1km) for 30months. Otherwise, you risk being ejected from the school.

Hi, I tried to join the whatsapp group chat link for P1 registration this year but it’s not working. Could someone forward me the link pls? My son will be registering for P1 this year, Yew Tee/CCK area. Any group chat for schools around this area would do as well. Thanks in advance!

              Hello Parents,

My daughter (PR) will be registering for 2021 P1 exercise. I am looking for any feedback regarding the following schools which are within 1-2km for us.
              1. Tampines primary
              2. Tampines north primary
              3. Junyuan primary
Any feedback on experience with the school, the teachers, student care, how competitive/stressful the environment is, would be appreciated.

Also Angsana primary is moving to a new location from 2022 and so will be within 1km for us. Should we consider that or will it be like a new school that takes time to find their bearings?

Tampines and Junyuan will ballot for SC. Hence, you are effectively left with Tampines North. No need feedback, just apply, cos PR don’t have many options unless you are prepared for schools far, far away.

Thus, you have 2 schools to choose from pick the one you like.

                        Thank you very much.

If apply for Poi Ching. Is it very hard to get the vacancies ? I staying centrale 8. I know Poi Ching is a famous school. I saw the applicants Is double than then vacancies in the past few years.

As I staying <1km to Poi Ching. Is there any high chance to get the vacancies? I saw moe website indicated that Spore child and staying <1km is priorities to ballot?

Moe website shown eg. Vacancies 85. Applicants 200. Is it means ballot for 200 ? Or is 200 will filter based on Sporean child <1km first like maybe applicants just 100 and go for balloting?

                        Pls help to advise .

                        Thank you
