Me too, open quickly and throw. Still kenah the awful smell. But so far never kenah hit by rubbish from upstairs.

Ever kenah splashed with water cos cleaners happened to be spray washing the whole chute with water hose. Actually I prefer some places that fumigate the whole chute rather than just plain water. Water does not kill the cockroaches. But fumigation costs more & MCST need to give advance warning like which day of the month they gonna fumigate. Then we have to tape up the chute area to prevent the fumes leaking into kitchen.

I have learnt to ask contractor to specially make concealment carpentry with door to box up the chute area. Keeps the usual smells out.

That’s one of the good things about a newer flat (we moved into this one in 1999) - the chutes are outside, not inside. No smells or cockcroaches in my kitchen! I had a chute in my kitchen in my previous flat and I remember those days, especially the days I forgot that the chutes would be fumigated, and came home after work and saw the mess!

I asked the younger one if she has enjoyed her holiday and looking forward to start school .she says yes to both…she enjoyed her holiday though almost never go out. Sleep till wake up naturally.

Woke up reach her kobo/kindle and sat at recliner chair start reading…I always tease her 开工arh. Meal time play games jiejie…about 6pm see her head down doing her work…why leh coz 7pm will have cheek to ask for tv time.

Earlier on asked me teach her how to sew using needle and thread and makes some stuffs for her toys. I will miss all these everytime school starts after long holiday or HBL.

Mine has chosen to play computer games (latest craze is Roblox Friday Night Funkin’) during his free time (which I give him in-between his holiday hw / tuition hw / revision of P4 and P5 T1 work). Basically mornings when I’m working, he sits next to me and works hard too.

Previously during hols I definitely would bring him out to watch a play or musical performance, or spend whole day at Science Centre / new playgrounds. Walking whole day exploring such stuff was our bonding time. A few years back DH brought him to Army Open House. Those were the fun things we could do Pre-Covid when being around crowds wasn’t an issue. Now it’s hard to find anywhere outdoors that isn’t crowded with people (even downstairs), so we’d rather stay at home to lessen risk. Play dates with a couple of friends only. Or they msg each other online.

DS has grown both upwards and sideways…I think it’s the sedentary lifestyle compared to previously :gloomy:

Talking abt growing sideway..my nephew too! I remember I was so surprised to see him first time growing sideway lol..a fussy eater to begin with and it is all after HBL 😂 my one gal for few years still abt same weight just up not much even though growing upward.

Work arh..mine very affected leh during this holiday haiz. Roblox, yes! That's the one the 2 of them playing during meal time (mostly extended of course).

I told them let's go this xx place... read abt ghost story then they say don't want to go le. I told them we go in evening without much petrol left and without much battery on hp la lol.

They definitely have become so much more indoor person after covid came, could be bad or good..Good thing is our bonding has become much stronger.

We do miss the pre Covid time..where we can just go to shopping ctr, park the kids in a book shop/library where they could just sit around and browse the books freely. Hope to see those days again.

Good to know yr DS growing up right? It’s always delightful for parents to see their child grow up. Mine can see his manhood showing up alr. Just given him go-ahead for a talk conducted by church in the bees & such 😉

I miss those younger days when the only chubby part about DS was his cheeks! But yes; like MKS mentioned, we have good bonding at home now. I find it very enjoyable to hear his thoughts getting more like secondary school kid. Lots of chances for spontaneous mature discussions about all aspects of life (birds & bees included). Current affairs too since we watch Chinese news together. Best is watching Chinese worship session together & he picks up so many new words like that.

Me too..really miss esp my elder kid's younger time. I still feel they are 2 different person. Grown up too fast! Do most parents have same wish of able to turn back time and live again? I have though it is impossible and a silly thought.

I do share with them like telling them not to be too quick to fall in love etc..

Now fats not to chubby cheecks? To stomach arh..my nephew same, round tummy cute la at this age.
