Will have to register via online registration and not P1-IS as well.
Any parents who are separated but not officially divorced like not yet done with the papers? Like just not staying together? In this case of different addresses in NRIC, what will happen? Will we have problems registering? -
Hi all we r currently staying within 1km of the school we are applying under 2B ( rental address) and we have also bought a place within 1km (same distance category) , but we won’t move in til end of this year as handover is in October and we need to do renovations
For the upcoming registration in July, should we use the nric address which is our current rental address or the resale address - we have proof of the resale transaction on hdb .
Or it doesn’t matter since both addresses are within the same distance category (1km)?
Thank you! -

However, if you want less updating in future, you should use the HDB address. -

It doesn’t matter. After you move in, just update the primary school of your new address. Some official hard copy letters (Eg regarding any Orientation dates) may be mailed to you there.

Thanks for the advise. We managed to fix the move in date on 30th June. By the way, May I ask if the primary registration always on 1st July ? -
Hi there,
We are currently renting a unit which is within 1 km to a rather popular school (unbeknown to us earlier) and ballotting history shown that < 1 km for every year is safe. This means as long as we are staying within 1 km, vacancy is almost guaranteed.
However, our new house will be TOPing soon, either end 2021 or latest mid 2022. This new house (our purchased unit) is about 2.5 km from this current school.
Is it an acceptable to apply for this school, then update MOE after we have moved out? We won’t be staying for 30 months minimum and wonder if this will be penalised by MOE? What is the worse thing that can happen with this option and what is the best advice for our situation?
Thanks much in advance. -

Essentially, you should seek to extend your lease to cover the 30m period, unless u have the excuse of “severe economic hardship that necessitates the move”. Otherwise your kid will be kicked out of the school. -

You have basically 2 options:

1. As suggested by zac_mum, extend your lease to cover 30months and stay till the 30months is up.
2. Use the new address to apply, which also mean, you may have to consider or look at another school. -
:thankyou: this is really useful.
