Also any advise regarding science domain test is also much appreciated, thank u

Unless your DD is in BSP or CLEP, she gets to choose which one she wants to study. The briefing session will provide the details into what each will cover.

Hello. My daughter is going for DSA interview.
We are foreigners, and we do not have much information about the school life.
Are all classes taught in Chinese at NYGH? Also do all students communicate in Chinese at school? -

Pre-covid, they had to write a short essay in English and another one in Chinese. They were then interviewed in a small group by a panel. Questions covered a wide spectrum from the typical dsa questions to more casual informal questions, in both languages.

I think the majority takes 8, if I remember what was communicated in the briefing last year and quite a number of them do take advanced subjects.
Mainly based on interest and flexibility considerations (in terms of how much freedom she would have when choosing JC subject combinations).LeeTaiTai\" post_id=\"2029547\" time=\"1625638111\" user_id=\"17608:
Hi
Would like to get some advice from parents when your dd does subject selection, what was her basis of choosing the subject she likes eg Science , double , triple, advance ...as they do not have clear idea on their career aspiration ( at least for mine) . How do you decide what subjects to choose ? Do most students take triple science in NYGH or an average of 9 subjects ? TIA :grphug:
I think (purely based on my own perception) majority takes 9 subjects. However, while there is a sizeable number of girls taking Triple Science, it is not like an overwhelming majority. The school offers a good mix of different subject combinations. Besides, quite a sizeable number of girls also take certain subjects at advanced level. I believe there will be a briefing session on subject combination for sec 2 coming up soon. Do attend that session. Very useful.
At this stage, unless they really know what they want to do, there could be some level of peer or senior influence in the selection. So attending that talk is important to get a better overall perspective. -

I am a bit surprised your DD applied for NYGH without finding out what kind of school it is.

NYGH, like all schools in SG, teaches all subjects except Chinese, in English. All students have to take Higher Chinese. As a SAP School, the girls are also given ample opportunities to deepen their understanding of Chinese culture.
As for whether the girls communicate in Chinese, I think like most Sg students, they communicate mostly in English and sometimes in Mandarin. -
Hi, asking for my friend. Has any one received outcome for Leadership DSA? Thanks in advanced.
