2nd day after my Moderna 2nd dose & I’m having chills despite fan off & under blanket.

Also been having a stabbing headache on one side of my head since last night, which even Panadol Extra cannot resolve. Hope I recover in time before tmr when it’s back to the grind for me.[/quote]
Rest & recover soon. DH hv the same symptoms & both chill & headache for 2 nights, little appetite but bounced back on 3rd day. We left him to sleep through the day & no air-con. Hope once this over, yr body will be stronger. Can yr hubby help with zac tmr?

All the kids (preschool, primary, secondary, JC) are all using Trace Together Safe Entry now, whenever they go for their center-based tuition.

Previously when the Learning Point cluster occurred, the TT distribution by primary schools (and compulsory TT check-ins) wasn’t even implemented yet right?

And now under the new rules, any kids who show up with flu-like symptoms at GPs, whole family will be quarantined until the swab test results are negative. And the TT data will inform the close contacts (Eg classmates, teachers) that they are at higher risk so be alert to symptoms.

I think that should be sufficient ringfencing…

So hunger is a real one haha. I was expecting myself to feel tired .. but all in my mind was I want to eat. Best thing is eat but don't put on weight type. Anyways I have one little symptom that they deferred me from my D2 now cleared and I can go for it.

                      To add..may I know how's your reaction to D2?

I think part of the problem with the seniors, at least some part of them, is that the messaging is mostly in the 4 major languages, and they need to have it translated to their vernacular. And in the translation, some of the detail may be lost.

The other thing is that many seniors just grasped the earliest message of \"stay at home so you won't catch Covid\", which was all that the authorities could say then as vaccines were not available and most people were having to lead restricted lives as well. But now that many are returning to work, school, entertainment etc, the messaging has to change, but many don't grasp the new messaging. I still meet some people who tell me their senior family members tell them \"I hardly go anywhere\", thinking that they will be safe. My mother said that at one stage, but we pointed out to her that if she didn't get vaccinated, we would have to keep the grandchildren away for her own safety - I think that's what the messaging needs to change to!
Yes, would be good to show/WA Chinese youtube videos to the seniors to understand the vaccines better. Basically, I just asked if they were scared of 插管。 Some aunts didn't understand and said, aiya, 插管就插管咯,thinking it's the tiny tube going into their nostrils like what they saw on TVB dramas. So I'd to show them some educational pictures. My hard messaging worked on some. Recently, I heard they walk into the VC on their own after 1 Jun. 😄

Fortunately my immediate seniors were not that diff to convince as they had taken travel vaccines in the past. I rem before we flew to some hardship countries, we had to go to the old Outram Health Institute to take some vaccines (cholera, typhoid, yellow fever??) and white malaria pills! I myself also had to take some vaccines for immersion progs/biz trips to hardship cities.

Many of the 40-70yos had also taken Hep A, B, tetanus, flu vaccines etc. back in the 90s-00s?? There was even a ’catch-up’ vaccination campaign implemented from July to November 1997, targeting children aged 12-18 years regardless of their measles vaccination status or past history of measles infection.

First world countries were more anal towards us from the 3rd world many decades ago. My Thai friend was held back at Heathrow for questioning over her health declaration card. 20-40 years ago, air crew also had to spray some disinfectant down the aisles in the aircraft cabin upon arrival from a certain 3rd world destination!

Anyway, back to the low elderly uptake %...the prob is we‘d ordered 3 diff types of vaccine brands last year, hence many Chi-educated seniors had been eagerly waiting for the inactivated virus one. But when it finally got the SAR, many have lost interest as they know it's not efficacious enough against Delta. Moreover, the small clinics with snaking queues under the hot sun looked off-putting to some elderly.

Someone should be bringing in Sinopharm soon, so the 25% can be vaccinated with something to their liking. If you ask the seniors to wait for Novavax, a protein subunit vaccine at year-end, it's also another unknown for everyone as the data is once again up till Phase 3 trials.
