Potentially higher number cluster, more vaccinated people now, no change of current measure, we may be able to see some data lor?
Because the rate of vaccination in the population is now higher, the higher number of cases is probably not as worrying, hence no change in safety measures (for now). I'm sure the authorities are watching the no. of seriously ill patients - if that rises, the measures arelikely to be tightened. If there many cases but few seriously ill, they will treat it more like a seasonal flu outbreak - lots of advice and admonitions, but no nationwide clampdown.

One side of me worry that it may 'blown', affecting many families not to mention the frontliners. More resources will be needed to test etc. so just thought that isn't it better to tweak the current measure abit for maybe 2 weeks in order to avoid? But another side of me, it will be good to see the data tho.

            Summary :
A Concord Primary School Student has tested positive for Covid-19.
He was last in school last Friday and his close contacts have been ring fenced.

The rest is standard: school doing HBL today and Friday and is stepping up on the cleaning and disinfection in school premises during this period.

I think Singapore has plenty of capacity. Keeping the restrictions tight affects a lot more people and supresses the economy a lot more than wide testing. And once vaccination rates are higher, especially among the seniors, I don't think having many cases will be too big a worry domestically as long as they don't fill the hospital beds. The problem is that other countries will look at our case counts and not want to let us cross their borders until they have achieved higher vaccination rates too.

Shouldn't MOH set up swab booths to test all tenants and landlords of buildings affected, like they made SCs in HDB blocks and heartland shopping malls to do so? They used the same lifts, toilets and common spaces like eateries within the buildings. Why must be so discreet?

Club De Zara in Textile Centre
                      Club Dolce in Balestier Point
Supreme KTV in Far East Shopping Centre
Empress KTV in Tanglin Shopping Centre
WU Bistro in Golden Mile Complex

                      One Exclusive (114 Middle Road)
                      Level 9 (L9) (114 Middle Road)
                      Terminal 10 (Clarke Quay)
                      Club M (114 Middle Road)

Is it cos some of these were frequented by EPs & expats who are unable to go back to their home countries to see their family, so being lonely they like to visit KTVs to ''eat''. Tsk, who asked Enterprise Singapore to offer Nightlife businesses $50,000 grant to help KTV ''pivot'' to F&B business after last year's CB? :slapshead:

And who in MOT came up with unilateral Air Travel Pass for Viets to enter without quarantine? Didn't monitor Vietnam's situation? HCMC is now under 14-day lockdown, so many STVPs are stuck here beyond their 30 day visa free stay. No wonder no choice but to see a doctor, else cannot reenter their own home country.

Why didn't ICA keep an eye on single female STVPs coming in for 30 days either in pairs or alone?

Why didn't SPF & SDAs stay vigilant & raid these dodgy licensed KTVs in addition to the unlicensed makeshift ones created by SCs in industrial buildings and shophouses?

Those in Far East SC/Tanglin SC/Clarke Quay might be visited by expats (Caucasians, Japs, Kors, etc) posted here. The HAs and SMMs must be driving them bored. Sometimes they need a Valentine to dine and sing with them to pass time in tiny claustrophobic Singapore. Some of them stay in shoebox units.

I'm surprised the ones at Cuppage/Concorde being so near to Far East SC are not affected. And Orchard Twrs/Orchard SC being so near to Tanglin SC didn't kena also?

Those going to Middle Rd/Balestier Pt/Textile Ctr/Golden Mile might be the lonely PRC WPs/EPs and horny SCs here. They love to visit the lounges there to singalong and enjoy massage after a hard day's work. It's nice to interact with fellow compatriots in these buildings. Jln Sultan is another possible hotspot.

The ones in Geylang/Jln Besar/Lavender/Joo Chiat are the lower-end ones for those with lower wages or cheapo locals.

If they don't check in with TT, which is likely, then use facial recognition tech, HP GPS or CCTV to locate them. Some of them might be FTs working in MNCs or local businesses, so keep a lookout for colleagues who go missing! But you also don't want to frighten the FTs off, as they have biological and psychological needs too during the pandemic! 😆

Better shut down all the KTVs for 2 weeks to smoke them out, including some at Selegie and Havelock Rd which are popular with PRCs loaded with $$$.

Which minister approved Nightclubs and KTVs to become F&B outlets? Ok, ok, I know these entertainment joints need to survive too but at least carry out spot checks and stringent tests lah!!

One KTV manager even had the cheek to claim that the Vietnamese hostess was “just a customer” !

If testing not mandatory, then I suppose most married men won’t go down for the swab test. Vaccinated or non-vaccinated, >90% chances won’t end up in ICU and definitely better than ending up in divorce. The few I know who frequent KTVs have (Pri & sec) school ongoing children. I am worried their kids may just bring the Covid virus to schools. This has the potential to be a very big cluster.

ST reported that since February, no flights for these short term visit pass, and OYK said he had “no idea” 🤷 when the Vietnamese came in to SG. ICA made a boo boo in granting short term visitor pass?
