Was under the impression that all hawkers and market vendors have been vaccinated alongside the cabbies and educators in Mar.
But Grace Fu revealed that not all hawkers and markets have been vaccinated.

\"Ms Fu also urged all workers of the hawker centres and markets affected to go for their Covid-19 tests and get vaccinated.\"
      https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/consumer/sufficient-supply-of-seafood-despite-jurong-fishery-port-closure-shoppers-urged

It's her KPI to oversee the vaccination uptake for F&B sectors under her ministry's purview. She'd have to discuss with the Singapore Fish Merchants’ General Association on the RRT of fishery port workers and fishmongers. If she implements that on the fishmongers, the other butchers and veggie/fruit sellers must do likewise on a routine basis!

I notice PAP is somewhat fearful of stepping on the toes of old-time hawkers, market vendors, PG and MG. PG and MG form the bulk of PAP's share of votes in every GE, that's why they are quite soft with them.

Speaking of PG and MG, shouldn't Masagos the MSF minister overseeing the elderly population chip in? As second Minister for Health also, Masagos has been rather quiet during the pandemic. How's the vaccine uptake amongst the minorities?

      https://www.msf.gov.sg/policies/Helping-the-Needy-and-Vulnerable/Supporting-Vulnerable-Elderly/Pages/Services-and-Programmes-for-Elderly.aspx

If this is an MTF, these 2 ministers should step up to help MOH improve the vaccination rate of sectors/sub-populations under their jurisdiction.
This time round is Grace Fu’s oversight lah. JFP, markets and hawker centres as well as KTVs as F&B outlets all under her charge.

Before this Phase 2 HA, I saw Foodcourt staff queuing up to do periodic swabs. KTVs which are now F&B outlets, why no periodic swab? And hawker centres/wet markets, this is the 2nd time blew up already.

Worrying about stepping on old-time hawkers and market vendors but now request them to do 7 day periodic swab? 14 day swab already very intrusive to me.

DH says we may see a CB 2 very soon cos the numbers are not coming down and ICU cases going up. Then we have to thank J Teo for CB1 and G Fu for CB2!

This time round, too many people were being ring fenced due to the outbreak. No resources too. My sis and my colleague were QO at home instead of the hotels that folks previously went to. There’s infection in childcare centres (both sis and colleague) it appears not to be reported.

I suspect many unvaccinated elderly are the lower-middle income retirees or workers who do not understand much of what the govt's been saying. Because they hardly travel, there's no impetus for them to be vaccinated. Of course I know there are also elderly Eng-ed leftists or Chinese-ed helicopters/former China businessmen & returnees (who are middle-upper class) that are not keen on vaccination.

Perhaps the PAP could rope in WP's MPs to help convince the rank-and-file / blue-collar workers. I saw on TV weeks ago WP elected MPs like Gerald Giam, Dennis Tan, Pritam and grassroots volunteers supporting the recent Hougang swabbing exercise. Quite touched by the WP!

Wonder if it's possible/convenient/appropriate to get Low Thia Khiang, their ''influencer'' aka 江湖老大, to record a Teochew + Chinese video or give a soundbite to Mediacorp Ch 8 to persuade the elderly who simply don't want to listen to PAP grassroots or LHL to tell them to jab. I don't think anyone bothers listening to HSK or understands HC's cheem explanations at all!

Maybe the WP can record the same type of vaccination videos in 4 diff dialects and other mother tongues. Instead of looking at Koh Poh Koon, you listen to Low Thia Khiang. Instead of Ong Ye Kung, you listen to Png Eng Huat. Instead of Rahayu, you listen to Raeesah or Manap Faisal. Instead of Josephine Teo, you see maybe Dennis Tan, Yee Jenn Jong or whoever that speaks the dialect.

Of course I know they have no obligation to help PAP increase the vaccination uptake, nor help OYK @ MOH whom they defeated in 2011, so maybe they can just target at their own constituencies' audience. But the videos can be shared on WP social media, so other underdogs living in PAP wards can watch them on HP too.

I don't know if it will work, but I see all opposition legislators in Taiwan enthusiastically driving up their vaccination rate, organising mass testing exercises, implementing SMMs & rolling out vaccination program in their respective municipalities or counties, despite that the ruling govt is DPP led by Tsai Ing-wen. Concerted efforts have been put in by DPP, KMT & TPP lawmakers and grassroots leaders to ensure the elderly in their constituencies have a pleasant experience at their vaccination centres. (NB: They have municipal / mayoral elections coming up next year, so they work very hard to impress their voters this pandemic.)
Maybe someone saw your post. 😂

Unfortunately, if it's only shared on social media, the intended targets may not get to view the videos.

Cannot CB again. Overall GDP yoy growth was 14.3% (2Q21) but qoq wise it contracted -2.0%.

They just need to HA until VP Kamala Harris arrives and departs. She's coming in next month as part of her SEA tour.

Actually those rising cases don't alarm me at all. I believe they are aggressively testing and tracing to scoop up more low-viral-load individuals to substantiate their ''Get your shot, Seniors!'' narrative.

For us, we just have to live life per normal. Always be on top of things by compiling a list of barangs we wish to take along should we get the QO. If I or DC ever kena QO, I'll most probably pack the following:

              1) Electronic devices with peripherals (power bank, earphones, thumbdrive, HDD, SD cards, cables)
              2) Dramas/Games downloaded
              3) Scanned copies of current term worksheets/lecture notes/enrichment materials/office documents
              4) Facial grooming kit (Korean Face Mask sheets and Clarisonic brush)
              5) Hair Dye kit + own towel
              6) Manicure/Pedicure kit (But nail clippers may be disallowed)
              7) Yoga mat / mini dumbbells
              😎 Snacks
              9) Disposable undies
              10) Multivits
              11) Condiments
              12) Hardcopy assessment books if relevant
              13) Kindle/paperbacks/playing cards/puzzle books
              14) Sketch Book & colourings
              15) Lightweight musical instrument
              16) Essential oils or aromatherapy room sprays
              17) Mini kettle and my own 3-in-1 sachets
              18) Arrangement with pte tutor to conduct Zoom tuition during QO

Oh that's good!! Hope can persuade another 5k-10k!

Old folks have been getting misinfo/disinfo on their smart phones. They do know how to watch videos on their HP!

They can also register their interest in Sinopharm with Raffles Med or IHH. It's coming in next mth.
                https://www.rafflesmedicalgroup.com/covid-19/vaccines/sinopharm/

But must tell them they might need to undergo PET when they attend grandkids' weddings or attend religious events.

Who cares about her coming? Lol.

Hopefully the daily figures can come down by next week. I would rather we extend by 2 weeks phase 2 HA than enter CB2. Already 3-digit daily figures for very long already. Last week there were only 3 ICU cases but this week at 7. Like OYK said, ICU numbers may just double every week if we don’t keep our community cases low.

Confirm got hidden reservoir now. Must be some KTVs uncles didn’t want to step forward to admit and be tested earlier lah.

                    I think Singapore is Schizophrenic.
Here we are tightening up with ICU cases creeping up yet LW just announced that by Sept, it will be quarantine-free for vaccinated travellers.

DS received his 2nd dose early this week. Except for a day of lerthagy & fever, for which he did HBL, there were no other detrimental incident as originally apprehensive about. In fact, he wanted to hv his 2nd jab earlier but we advised him to hold out. Was initially worried myocarditis so didn’t agree to an enthusiastic son to bring fwd. His faith was stronger than parents human blind-side thinking he might result as one of few rare cases. Eventually, we had no reason to hold him back. Now, we’ve learnt a firm lesson to trust God to watch over him child, just as we’ve trusted ourselves to vaccination, including our Taoist inclined MIL who encouraged DS tho he’s her 1st grandchild. She had been vigorously advocating vaccination amongst her brothers & an 89-year-old elderly sister of hers. Every individual’s respond differently to vaccines & we’ve got to know our system enuf to take that leap of faith.
