Pfffft. All that reviewing and fine tuning and we are still doing a lot worse than Hong Kong where practically everything is fully open except the airport.

We are at 6 in ICU, or 0.6% of ICU beds for Covid, and MTF is already backing down.

How many do we have in ICU for dengue?

It wont be normal as in b4 C19. Maybe the new normal from this not so normal situation.

Adjustments to many things, to me is ok so long as we can have our 小命 at least for now. At time like this, why do we even want to have big group gatherings?

I didn’t read all…but looks like employers getting more responsibility it seems. So compared to bz or those ppl we read need to be away from families for esp since covid started, all these inconveniences seem to be near to nothing.

OYK said as long as our ICU beds don’t reach 1,000, we can handle.

LW said if cases keep increasing, we will soon see 2,000 daily cases in a week or so. With cases growing exponentially, more people will end up in the ICUs, which will in turn overwhelm our healthcare system.

So the two of them are like going in two different directions.

Lee_yl is very sharp indeed. My better half also noticed this subtlety when LW came back from G20 Finance Ministers meeting in Venice. Some directives were suddenly tweaked after LW returned.

Now OYK is in G20 Health Ministers meeting in Rome and will be in quarantine, LW in 朝廷 will \"做庄\"。 I can smell that the 两大亲王在夺嫡! But the 垂帘听政的皇后娘娘 also has differing directions from the 大臣、众爱卿、御医们 regarding the 药方! 😆

Meanwhile, 礼部尚书大臣 is currently 闭门修行,waiting for the moment to 东山再起 after the 科举。 :rotflmao:
          And 圣上 is at 御花园赏花,practising水墨画。

Actually quite obvious..see b4 the onboard of ....

Exactly. Really 匪夷所思. What did HK do that is right? Just because their non-negotiable quarantine applies to all? They also have differentiated schemes for the vaccinated/unvaccinated to dine-in and club in, way before we implemented here in fact.

Their youth vaccination rate is barely 60%. Their elderly vaccination rate is not high. They have international travellers like us as they too are an aviation hub, transshipment hub and densely populated financial hub with many expats. They are linked to Luohu Shenzhen whose borders are shut tight except for cross-border goods delivery. Likewise, we haven't opened our causeway borders since last Mar. They also have fishery ports with arrivals from SEA like us.

We also copied them by compulsorily swabbing selected blocks found with positive cases and viral waste water, yet our cases keep going up and up. Initially, the HK-SIN ATB's agreement was avg <5 unlinked cases/week. Look at what we have now! Super 丢脸。 They had planeloads of Delta passengers before too, but it was quickly put out.

So, can MMTF tell me what went wrong? And they don't have to take A-star grade vaccine and boosters to control the pandemic. What a joke! They are going to open the PRC-HK borders to welcome vaccinated mainland tourists without quarantine soon.

Their quarantine is literally entire block cannot even leave the house. Not sure what the backlash will be if government does that here.

But no more than 72 hrs usually for the PCR results to come out. They will provide food essentials for affected block residents whilst swabbing is underway.

Having to live with the constant threat of being quarantined with your entire family or office, and repeatedly having stuff jammed up your nostrils, just because you may happen to catch the sniffles or some asymptomatic virus from some other asymptomatic random person is not living normally.

This will be the new norm

It's not supposed to be! Or at least, it should affect the smallest no. of people for as short a time as possible, with testing to end the period of disruption asap. And it should just ignore the asymptomatic altogether. Currently, it's affecting too many people, for too long.
