Hi, I have checked and edited my earlier reply. The 29 boys (Y4 in 2020) comprise the prefects elected when they were in Y2 (majority) plus a few elected when they were in Y3. I think the photos of the Head Prefect and the other 4 boys in the EXCO are not there (their names are listed), so 29 + 5 = 34. I believe it is not a fixed number but varies slightly each year. So it should be 30++ elected as prefects each year (majority Y2, a few Y3).
Thank you very much for the info.Luxedream\" post_id=\"2021775\" time=\"1619672679\" user_id=\"98340:

How many Y2 students are elected every year?
Thank you.
In the 2020 Year Book, there are only 29 boys on the RIPB page. :scratchhead:
If total number of prefects is 29, and tenure is for 2 years, then is it possible that each year they only take in about 15 Y2?
:?

Who selects the 60 candidates? And is voting done only by students ?
Yes, candidates run for election in Y5.Luxedream\" post_id=\"2021764\" time=\"1619669857\" user_id=\"98340:
For Y5-6, they have the Students' Council. Candidates run for election in Y5 for a tenure of 1 year.Luxedream\" post_id=\"2021764\" time=\"1619669857\" user_id=\"98340:
No, prefects once selected do not need to run for election again. They will remain prefects until Y4 graduation.
According to the Y1-4 Year Book, RIPB is described as a \"two-year journey\". Does it mean that the tenure is for 2 years? After a Y2 student is elected as prefect, does he need to run for election again in Y3?Luxedream\" post_id=\"2021764\" time=\"1619669857\" user_id=\"98340:Around 60 candidates selected for voting each year (majority Y2, some Y3) and around 30 elected as prefects after the voting.

Selected after interviews.
I cannot remember the details but the cohort should know the voting process. -

Here’s what I know about the selection.
Who selects the 60 candidates? And is voting done only by students ?
1. Students who are interested to join the prefectorial board have to self nominate.
2. Class teachers do first round of shortlisting.
3. Shortlisted candidates attend interview.
4. Candidates who pass the interview proceed to campaigning.
5. Students vote for the prefects. -
Thanks Coast and Luxedream !

Hello parents, may I ask how many Y2 students will be selected into Raffles Academy for one subject? Like Maths? And what will be covered in the selection test? The content/topics from Y3 or Olympia topics? Thanks.

There is no specific limit to the number of students admitted into the prog. As long as the teachers feel that based on overall subj grades n info submitted in the application form n performance of the selection tests that the kid can cope n show interests, they'll get in. For my son yr, almost whole euler class proceeded to MathRA plus a grp of non-euler kids, so was less than 25pax in his class. Not sure about other RA.

Selection tests my son said for his yr, he can only remember was olympiad style q for y2 math syllabus topics.
There will be briefing or information given to parents regarding RA n subj selection. -
Hi Parents, for the Y3 course options, I have a question:
According to the school’s booklet, GPA3.2 or higher is eligible for 9 subjects, but the GPA not more than 2.4 will be offered O Level. My question is: what if GPA 2.8? not eligible for 9 subjects? then how?
Looking forward to your advice. Thank you. -

There are combinations for 8 subjects. I believe the info is in the booklet too.
