http://www.straitstimes.com/world/united-states/a-new-covid-19-testing-model-in-us-aims-to-spare-students-from-quarantine

With the issuing of self-test kits to the students, are we adopting this \"test to stay\" approach?
Students who are identified as close contacts can now continue attending school as long as they have no symptoms and test negative for the virus every day for seven days.

An increasing number of school districts are turning to testing to keep more children in the classroom and avoid disrupting the work lives of their parents.

The resource-intensive approach - sometimes known as \"test to stay\" or modified quarantine - allows students who have been exposed to the virus to stay in school as long as they take frequent Covid-19 tests
, which are typically provided by the school, and adhere to other precautions.

Experts agree that children who are infected with the virus should isolate at home, but the question of what to do about their classmates poses a dilemma.

Allowing children who have been exposed to the virus to remain in school does pose a potential transmission risk, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says that it \"does not have enough evidence\" to support the approach. Instead, it recommends that close contacts who have not been fully vaccinated quarantine for as long as 14 days. (Vaccinated close contacts can remain in the classroom as long as they are asymptomatic and wear a mask, according to the agency's school guidance.)

\"At this time, we do not recommend or endorse a test-to-stay program,\" the CDC said in a statement to The New York Times. The agency added, \"However, we are working with multiple jurisdictions who have chosen to use these approaches to gather more information.\"
http://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/spore-counsellors-face-burnout-as-more-people-seek-therapy-amid-covid-19-pandemic

Mental health care workers feeling the strain too...
Counsellors in Singapore are facing burnout and high demand amid the Covid-19 pandemic as more individuals seek therapy to cope with mental health concerns and stress related to employment and family relationships.

Representatives from five firms here said the number of new cases had spiked by an average of 20 per cent from pre-pandemic years, with one firm reporting that its client numbers had tripled between August last year and last month, compared with the corresponding period over 2018 and 2019.

Mr Tony Ong, senior therapist and manager of counselling services at Counselling and Care Centre, said it had 1,300 more sessions for approximately the same number of clients as in the previous financial year.
Do we need to get ready some medicine to be kept at home?

Or during telemedicine consultation, they will prescribe the med and send it to our home?

They send it over for my telemedicine consultation. Very convenient.

Is it the covid one? We had teleconsult for dd's follow up last year. It was smooth. I guess not much worries even if cant get hold with tele doctor as we can buy panadol online.

The med we kept at home almost all expired, touch wood no need med for past 2 years at least. So just thought at least some med for fever, cough and flu should be good.

On this, see if any parents can advise, is it good to have paracetamol&cough (2in1) and paracetamol&cold(2in1) or go med targeting individual illness such as neurofen, paracetamol, Zrytec, Robutussin l/Ivy Leaf?

Do you mean you are on Home Recovery? Are the med prescribed general? I hearsay given some panadol etc.
                  Thank you.
