haha, so shld catch or dont catch covid ....?
I took Moderna first time round, so I'm not in a hurry to get a booster since the efficacy barely drops after 4 mths. Will wait till next year and see. My husband said maybe we will just catch Covid in the meantime, then that will be even better than a booster. -

I think this is no choice bec we are just a little red dot
The new norm is going to be 4 weeks on and 4 weeks off until enough of the rest of the world opens, because we are always waiting to see other people's data. We lead by following other people. :faint:

If below 60 and no underlying health conditions, ok to catch.

Otherwise, I’d try not to catch. See the profiles of those who died, I think the main factor is whether you have those other health problems. Older age also a factor because weaker immune system. So if the old folks had very few side effects to Pfizer (like my MIL), I’d worry about them too. Don’t bring them happily go everywhere dining, gai gai here & there. Their vaccination not very effective. -

Getting SAF to help out is one thing since they already helped out for last year for the FW Dorms and packing the masks. The main issue is that they could only think of throwing more manpower to solve the problem instead of leveraging on technology to solve the problem. The omission of GovTech to help out is glaring. If everyday there are 5000 new cases, how many SAF personnel are needed to man the hotlines?
Isn't the MOH quarantine hotline found on the HRW and HRA SMS? Is it found somewhere on the care pack?
MOH and many ministries' website have 'ASK JAMIE' which is the chatbot powered by GovTech. But it's not smart enough to utter dialects and vernacular lang characters.
It's quite common to http://euromil.org/armed-forces-and-covid-19/, e.g. setting up field hospitals, delivering protective equipment or enforcing lockdowns. In the Philippines or Indonesia, the military led the entire response. Vietnam's military helped with food delivery to households. Taiwan's military helped with disinfecting premises found with positive cases. Call centres and test centres in Denmark for instance are supported by their home guards.
Will the SAF be assisting at the call centre?
I don't know if we still have money to outsource to pte call centres, and certainly not offshore ones who cannot speak local dialects that you want. Besides, public sector must now buy goods & services from businesses that comply with Progressive wages and Tafep guidelines/laws. Outsourcing to offshore call centres may not be possible??
You can try MOH “Ask Jamie” on COVID-related questions. If “ask Jamie” can work, the MOH hotlines will not be jammed. Have you tried calling the COVID hotline? The interactive voice system spoke only in English with a accent. How should the old folks react? -
i tried the hotline 1800 something. it is always engaged.

My husband and I are both in overall good health, so we are not too concerned about catching it (already vaccinated). We will continue to observe the various health recommendations and restrictions (although we chafe at some of them), but hope that the MTF will stop shooting themselves in the foot* so our children can return to some semblence of normality. For us personally, we're at that stage of life where we can manage pretty well even stuck at home, but it's very hard for the young.
* encouraging widespread testing of asymptomatic individuals, then when the no. of cases detected is high, imposing even more testing of asymptomatic individuals. -

I don’t understand why PM Lee wants to change a health minister with a 10 years of experience heading MOH in the midst of a pandemic.
Worse when he's new on the job and probably no ones knows him and wants to help him.
Only GKY knows who in MOH can talk but can’t deliver and others who can be entrusted to get the job done. Ong took over MOH for a few months only, he is also not familiar with the operations. Plus when there’s a new boss, the staff is also not sure of the new boss’ management style and character.
Why can’t Gan be 1st minister MOH and OYK as 2nd minister MOH? I think they can work well hand in hand. One has ideas and the other is familiar with the operations. But too bad, when Heng ruled himself out of 4G leadership, only left with OYK and LW to fight for PM post. So like what you said, one must outshine the other -

Had to go out to buy some veggies for meals the next two days and fruits for snacks. Definitely no shortage of people moving around on the streets/mall area. It’s packed!
