2021 PSLE Discussions and Strategies (Children born in 2009)
-
My DC finished all the paper but only got little time to check the whole paper. As we have new scoring system, it is important to let the children to know how to "give up" certain questions and use the right strategy to get 90 and above. I especially told my child yesterday that and yet he spent a lot of time on one qns that worthed 3 marks and didnt have enough time to check all other questions.
under new score system, think must ask our children to learn to make sure that they got all questions they can do correct firstly. -
My DC said he found the paper tough, very sad

Helen and Ivan had the same number of coins. Helen had a number of 50-cent coins and 64 20-cent coins. These coins had a mass of 1.134 kg. Ivan had a number of 50-cent coins and 104 20-cent coins .
(a) Who has more money in coins and by how much?(2)
(b) given that each 50-cent coin is 2.7g more heavier than a 20-cent coin, what is the mass of Ivan’s coins in kilograms? (2) -

Is this question considered tough in PSLE standard? I am trying to understand the difficulty level of the paper given that many feedback a tough paper today.

My son says that this was the hardest question in the paper, most could not solve. He thinks he got it wrong -

My son says that this was the hardest question in the paper, most could not solve. He got part A but he forgot what he got for part B, he said he most likely got it wrong, like many of his classmates.
The answer for A is Helen and by $20 -

Ok thanks. The reason I ask is because I saw these kind of qns before in my kids P5 maths homework (many years back). There is a certain method to solve the problem (which obviously i have forgotten about it).Pinkfellow\" post_id=\"2040092\" time=\"1633072706\" user_id=\"137321:
