Would this be the question that's stressing the students out?

My sis forwarded me this suggested solution to the question above. https://www.facebook.com/nicklebee.tutors/posts/4949062438454414

I don't recall the PSLE being this tough back when my child was in primary 6.

In the past, the T-score could be moderated if the cohort does badly overall. Not sure if moderation is still possible in the new \"AL\" scoring system.

This question may seem difficult for parents who are not familiar with the new methodology of problem-solving.

For parents who are familiar with what this generation of students are learning, you will recognise that this question is simply a combination of model drawing analysis and assumption method.
e.g Instead of say 4 wheels/legs minus 2 wheels/legs x no of parts. For this case, it is 2.7g x no of parts (which is 40)

My son's answer is 7 also[/quote]My girl got 7 as well. A lot of her classmates put 6 but that could be because they missed out the additional cube at the top row at the intersection of both rows of cubes.

so far, based on above discussion, only 1 question is deemed difficult, out of the entire two Maths papers (1 and 2), because don't see students bring out other challenging Maths questions.

If is only just 1 difficult question, then cannot conclude that Maths is tough, because in order to segregate out the (AL 1 vs. AL 2) students, definitely they have to set some tough questions. Otherwise, everyone will score AL 1, for today Maths
My girl top school past year prelim has been consistently 86-94 since June, and her prelim she thought her school prelim was tougher (a couple hard questions) and her mark was 82. Today when she came back she said the paper was tougher than even her prelim. After question 6 basically she found it challenging and 3-4 questions so tough that she just guessed her way through them.

She's done 2-3 papers a week this year
but from 2018/2019 because the annoucement of cut topics came after I had bought the papers :faint:

Any child can remember this question?

My girl asking me abt this coz she says all her class mates different answer. And very different. For question (b)

                    The drawing question:
                    (a) draw a triangle with the same perimeter as parallelogram abcd
                    (b) find the ratio of parallelogram abcd to the triangle you drew.

Wishing all family and p6 students a happy weekend and good health. Do hug your kids and help them stay positive while being a listening ear without dismissing their feelings or accounts too.
