If all behave well during this period..maybe can have Christmas/CNY celebrations, who knows right..
The thing is that there is no solution in sight now. Last year, the hope was that there would be very effective vaccines, so \"behaving well\" would mean fewer cases in the future, and fewer deaths. But the current situation is different - we stay home now, then if we relax before Christmas, the spike in cases will come at Christmas. We stay home till CNY, then relax, the spike will come then. We stay home till Easter... Are we supposed to wait till that perfect vaccine or cure is found?

I took Moderna, my husband took Pfizer. My symptoms are milder than his, his earlier symptoms included high fever 38.x and bad sore throat such that he said even swallowing air was painful. My fever was 37.x and sore throat was mild too. Our fever, sore throat, fatigue, body aches are more or less gone after 1+ weeks. My concern is actually our loss of smell and affected taste buds, which we do not know when they will return, or will they ever return :((

We are both on home recovery programme.
Sorry to hear about your HRP.

Where/how do you think you possibly could've contracted C19?

Hubby 1st or you 1st? How many mths following your vaccination?

How long have you not been able to taste and smell things?

Life is so odd and different with the restrictions.
It's post exams. What did we as teenagers do to celebrate the end of exams?
          ...
When I look at my kids, I feel they are living rather abnormal lives! It's post-exams, and we can't even dine out with family or friends! Schools don't allow students to hang out together, even within school. Everyone is masked, and there is a physical and psychological barrier between individuals.

How long should society prolong this?
But you've booked your VTL tickets right? You can escape from all these šŸ™‚

No need to pay MTF chairmen million dollar salary each. Anyone also can be MTF chairman cos the outcome is still the same. Just passively wait for all the vulnerable persons to contract covid and die.

Just April this year, we were listed as NUMBER 1 in the Bloomberg covid resilience table for doing so well in managing Covid. Someone took over MOH in May, and now we are grouped in the HIGHEST covid risk country category by US for travel by its citizens.
What else can they do if the scientists can't come up with the perfect vaccine or cure? The choice they are facing now is letting more cases come about now, with a higher spike and more deaths, or kicking the can down the road with the same no. of deaths, just spread out.

I think we did really well till the vaccinations reached a high level - many lives were saved. But the latest couple of months has made many inside and outside Singapore wonder what happened. I think the MTF, or some key person(s) in or behind the MTF, just lost their nerve. The choice I see is either have a super-high but short-lived spike or a long-drawn-out high plateau. But while we are at that plateau stage (for months or years more?), other countries who went the other route will have put Covid behind them and will then shun us.

How to go to China? They will quarantine us for 21 days. And I saw some Youtube videos - at one stage, China seemed to be conducting daily PCR tests on persons under quarantine! And if you get Covid, you'll be remanded at a Chinese hospital.....right? A holiday there doesn't seem feasible. Otherwise I'd be the 1st to wanna go!!

In addition to gargling with Betadine, I also sterilise my nose with Sterimar nasal spray regularly.

Thank you for keeping us informed of your conditions. We sincerely hope that you and your hubs will get better soon. May you recover your sense of smell and taste! Did you guys do home quarantine? It must have been a pretty trying time!

Well, the good thing is (if we can even call it a good thing), unlike many of us here, at least you and your hubs have actually gone through the virus and SURVIVED. Chances of either of you catching it again should be much lower now.

The rest of us are still biting our fingers waiting for our turn... :nailbite:
