Thank you for your reply, Michileigh! Which days are hall assembly days? Thank you. -
Hi Parents, for Y1 students, I understand they will need to get an iPad. Do parents get them from school or direct from retailers? And is there any specific model? e.g iPad, pro, air etc. or any accessory required?

Anyone letting go of their Japanese textbooks for Year 2, please PM me. Should there be any accompanying notes to go with the textbooks, it would be great as well. Thanks.

You can get it from the school or buy/use your own if you do not like the specs/package offer through the school. We bought our own iPad & Keyboard. My DD's classmates complained a lot about the keyboard and some end up buying another keyboard instead. You can take your DD to the Apple store to see what she is comfortable with. If she intends to write more using the Apple pencil, you may want to select a screen protector meant for writing.

Good suggestions. I think regardless of whether you intend to use the apple pencil or not, a screen protector is a necessity as you will be poking at the screen a lot.

Does the keyboard come as a case for the ipad? -

a) Is the package offered by the school cheaper compared to the Apple store?
b) Is iPad air or iPad pro allowed? Or it must it be iPad only? -

For this year, the package is a folio keyboard case without a trackpad from Logitech. You may then need to get a mouse to go along.

Personally, I think iPad is not a laptop replacement and it would have been better if they have kept to the MacBook like it used to be. -

At home, my daughter uses the MacBook more. The iPad is more for bringing to school, likely because it is less heavy than the MacBook.

Then they should have standardised with the Macbook Air, which really isn't much bigger or heavier than the iPad.

I think its more a matter of cost.
