Going through half lifetime, have learnt that nothing is absolute. Who is to say, it's unfair. It can be a chance too, a door open to new opportunities for the kid who was ballot out. Always in the shadows of others. A blessing in disguise.

They would have still cried. Cos they can’t do the questions. (Personally I felt the questions weren’t particularly hard) but I can empathize that if you can’t do it after working real hard, you would need to let off some steam by crying/venting/ranting. It’s probably due to the immediate stresses after completing the paper and feeling like you can do better.

We all know PSLE is a high stakes exam, despite MOE trying to pretend otherwise, and the students cried because they knew that their AL scores would ultimately determine their secondary school posting. -
Whether it is t-scores or AL-scores… PSLE is definitely stressful for the child. Better for us to concentrate on building up the child’s tenacity than to debate on which is more "stressful".

Why cannot have more balloting for top schools? If all those who meet COP of RI (say, AL6) has to enter balloting altogether, then there is no need to try to score AL4 points as the student will still be subject to balloting. As it is, at AL4 it is almost certain that a student can get into any secondary school of his choice which causes students to chase for every mark.
And of cos, there are some parents who cannot accept that their children, being the top students, will be subject to balloting, thus we are stuck in this situation. -

We cannot just want to reduce the stress of exam, then go balloting to decide who can further their study and who cannot by luck.
Just think, when there are 2 ladies fighting for a secretary post, even they may be having more or less same LCCI exam result, the boss will not use balloting to decide whom he want to employ.
