Malaysian drug trafficker in recent news suddenly said infected and 4 lions at Night Safari tested positive..

are you inferring that the 2 cases are related since both in lock-up? 😆

Oh no.. never thought of it! Just very unexpected and happened at the same time 😓

Dd2 asked me how they test the lions..I say don't know maybe jab let them sleep then swab?

So isolate for 72hrs then ART test if -ve can go back to work?
So, either the lions are very \"communal\" or maybe it was actually the tester that got covid 😂

Maybe to Chiefks, ban means no travel freely need under stricter restrictions. But hope no quarantine lol else can be quite a waste.

Ban, restrictions, whatever. The fact is, we are no longer considered as a \"clean\" city. How does this feel after all these years living in the most \"open\" and sparkling \"clean\" city that the government is so early to project us as? It's sad.

Even we are the most open and clean city for all these years doesn't mean that we are forever. Environment and situation may change, the most important is how to adjust our mindset to adapt to the new environment and accept the new challenge in front of us. Feeling sad and sigh....cannot help us in facing difficult situation.

I believe this is what we have to teach our kids how to tackle challenges in their future.
This is the mindset I’ve been taking. Flex & adapt. To accept diff situations isn’t easy but we hv to learn coz covid will be ever changing as even our ecosystem is changing according to our weather. I will expect more or much more devastating maladies at the rate our who environment is changing - higher sea level, flash-floods, typhoons, longer wet seasons ...

Our younger generation hv so much more to face. They’ve to be “operationally ready” to ‘pack & go’ w/o gribe or cry spilt milk. As a human race, we’ve done a lot of harm to mother-earth & nature is fighting back fiercely.

Just the other day I realized how much more rubbish our FW hv to clear bcoz online deliveries are now discarded at greater vigor 📦 . See the tapes & tags & possibly more pieces of foam or bubble packs?

Sad, but the plus side is that when this is all over (in a year or so? hopefully!), the world will look at the figures and realise that Singapore has one of the lowest death rates overall.

Those who praises China’s zero covid policy should read this https://www.npr.org/sections/goatsandsoda/2021/11/05/1052811962/one-chinese-town-has-started-a-fiery-online-debate-about-chinas-zero-covid-polic

I can’t imagine if I have 2 children aged 4 and 14 years old and I have to suddenly leave them at home alone.
I was in China during SARS. I nearly couldn't get to my kids one day (when the first cases were reported in my city) because I was locked into a college (gates locked without warning) and had to get college officials to write a letter saying that I lived outside and had young kids. Then some locals told me that if the cases spread, they might lock kids into the kindergartens and not let them go home! After that, I kept my kids at home until the situation eased! Luckily it didn't last as long as this Covid pandemic.

Close contacts in China now are defined by a radius of 1km from a confirmed case. Hence really, be prepared to be locked down or have your movements restricted, ordered to go for mandatory testing etc, wherever you are in China.

Shanghai Disneyland activated mass testing of all visitors when a case was found recently.

My German friend who has been working in Singapore for 3 years, went back to Germany last week, if the EU just say Singapore is now banned, then how could my German friend return home?

There are many people travelling between Singapore and EU countries every day and therefore cannot just say \"Banned\".
:? \"banned\"?

Did you read the recommendations or travel advisory put up by the European Union Council at all? It's a mere reminder to their own citizens planning to head to certain countries to exercise caution, but it doesn't ban them from going over. Even socialist state China cannot ban its citizens from flying out, unless they live in some hotspots where infected cases are already detected.

Your German friend can surely return to SG, because so long as ICA/our side adopts a unilateral ''open-leg'' policy (i.e. 48hr PDT ART + on-arrival PCR), he can still return here to work, with little restrictions.

But if he wishes to return to Germany again a few months later say next year, ah, I guess he like all SG VTLs/biz travellers would have to monitor the German border restrictions closely. If not he could always transit through another ''less strict'' Schengen country/the UK/Switzerland/Liechtenstein/Norway/Iceland to go home.

You misunderstand my post. I was replying to ChiefKaisu's post dated 09 Nov 2021 11:27pm as below.
The word \"Banned\" was suggested by ChiefKaisu not me.

Lol. I read until I got cross-eyed. Talk about double negatives. Why don't they just say Singapore is now banned from EU? Easier, right?
