Any Parents taking up Private Degree Courses?

u may want to check out uni of york. think they may have a 100% online degree course available. nature is english, early childhood education etc. know someone who is doing online masters here in spore.

I was just thinking… an advantage of parents taking up further studies is that your children can see you studying hard (hopefully), and swotting for exams. For my kids, they see that learning doesn’t stop with age. For me, an unexpected benefit is a renewed awareness of how tough (and scary!) timed exams can be - i hope that will enable me to cut my kids some slack when it’s their turn to do exams. Also, I get to test out different exam techniques (time management, SPOTTING questions), hopefully can pass on some tips to the kiddos…

clarabella, I didn't realize you are studying. My wife is too... 3 times a week from 7pm-10pm for a year :!: Very tough for everyone. Well, such is the cost of the quest for knowledge.

Chief, your wife is very capable lah, she's working too, right? I can imagine how tough it is for her, you and the kids.

I'm a full-time student. Can't do this part-time, unfortunately. Don't know what possessed me... when it's exam time i always curse myself for taking it up.

Or how much the mummy procastinate & the very thick book remains untouched on their bookshelves. I'm being group pressured by colleague and management to get certification. If given an option, I would rather play with my kids now that their exams are over rather than do my post graduate course.

You may wish to check out informatic’s website for online degree courses from University of Wales and University of South Queensland and do some research whether they are recognise.

I am also considering to take up a general degree course. Does anyone has any good experience with any private school provider?

I took up this psychology course when my child was 3 mths old and i just completed the whole degree and my child is already 4. I know you may dislike or unable to attend any classes just like me that is why I have chosen this school. While the degree is accredited but I have yet to land myself a job perhaps the employer may see me as out of action so many years. *Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I really think that this is a very topic which can be explored by most parents.

Imho:
- while we teach our kids to "grow until old, learn until old", do we ourselves put this into action?
- Are we setting a good example for our kids by doing so?
- Is it possible for parents to do homework while kids are doing their own homework
- can this be a bonding activity where the family "studies" together?
- as idealist as it sounds, is it possible or practical ?
