MerlionInGermany means that if you can get into the school without balloting, then your address doesn't matter at all.
I don't think the system will reflect your new address that was changed in August?MerlionInGermany\" post_id=\"2046936\" time=\"1637289226\" user_id=\"2964:
To add.
Using Method 2, after the change of nric to Bt Batok for 2CS, if successful in getting a place in 2CS school and it is a shoo in without balloting, then I think it is fine. -

Hi bobmaxiao, may I know if you managed to get a response from MOE? I am in a similar situation where I plan to register with current address <1km from the pri sch, but will likely have to move when my child is end-P1. Wondering if there is flexibility in moving to a <2km house then, in the situation whereby only >2km required balloting for that Phase.
Exactly what we are gonna do now. better ask for clarity than kenna troubles! thanks guys for the input!!!!
Thanks in advance! -

Not possible. You can move only same or better distance. If you know your property coming up in end P1, you should use your new property address to register.

That's right. You need to use your new property address. Some might still do it, but you run the risk of becoming made an \"example\" by MOE if you get caught. MOE does do random checks and people who get \"balloted\" out may not be very forgiving...

Hi wise parents,
My friend stays with her parents and intends to use her parents’ address when it comes to P1 registration. Is that valid even if she does not own the house? Will they ask for proof of ownership title deed etc, as she is unsure what documents to prepare. Thanks for advice! -

Her NRIC needs to reflect the address.

If still not reflecting the address, check out ICA requirements on how to apply:

She will have to register her parents as the child's guardians, and the closest you can get during bidding is the 1-2km distance even if your parents live right next door to the school. It's stupid, I know... but I guess MOE is trying to weed out people who try to game the system.

You can rent the place. As long as her address is on her NRIC, MOE doesn't really care. -
Hi, can anyone help to advise with the questions regarding home addresses as in the event we need to shift within the 30 months of registration. Thanks!
1. If my current address used for registration is less than 1km from the primary school and my child successfully got into the primary school at phase 2a, as the balloting only took place at >2km, can we then change the address to our parents’ address (within 1-2km) who are caretakers for my child within the 30 months/ after balloting?
2. If my address used for registration is less than 1km from the primary school and my child successfully got into the primary school at phase 2a and no balloting took place at this phase, can we then change the address to another which is more than 2km within the 30 months? -

1. If balloting has occurred >2km, I think it is ok to switch to a 1.5km category from your 1km category. I'm not sure, but I think your case will be in the grey area which you should be able to argue if anyone finds out. I doubt the school itself will do anything in your case.

2. Yes. If no balloting occurs for the phase your child gets in, then it is perfectly fine to change address. Your child did not gain \"priority admission through home-school distance\", so it's perfectly fine to move.
