All About GEP

My understanding is that most schools would have chosen the prefects at P4. GEP students at new sch might have passed the selection timeline. or do anyone knows if there is still possibility to be prefect via GEP? As is competitive,I believe is also harder to aim for top 10% for scholarship as well ? Even for yearly edusave? Is that a consideration whether to choose GEP as well?

It will be different this year becoz the children will only sit for Round 2 on 22 & 23 November. As per MOE's website, all relevant results and posting will be released in December (with no actual dates mentioned).
Based on what I know, the results and your gep school posting will be mailed to you in the last week of november. This year, the letter should reach you around 26 nov.san20sg\" post_id=\"2047113\" time=\"1637417680\" user_id=\"76391:
anyone knows when will the results for the second round be out in December?

https://www.moe.gov.sg/programmes/gifted-education/identification/school-posting[/quote]Ohhh my mistake. I based the dates on my kid's past attempt at GEP. That year there was no disruption, so the round 2 results were released in the last week of Nov. -

Big fish in small pond vs
Small fish in big pond.
U decide which environment is better for your child to thrive in lo.
He may be the biggest fish in the new pond - we never know too. -
I want to buy the p4 books soon but my hub wants to wait for the gep results, just in case there is any slim chance he may get in. Hope they don’t release only at the last week of Dec 21.

Curious about the edusave awards as well . Are the GEP kids considered separately from the mainstream for the award ?

I don’t know the answer but to be fair, I think they should? If not, the mainstream kids in those 9 schools with gep centers will be quite cham. All the brightest kids from all over Singapore are collected and concentrated in these 9 schools.

I'm not too sure too. But somehow i feel that they will take both GEP and mainstream into consideration. Bec Edusave requires not just result but character too which GEP screening didnt filter this. I know some GEP shortlisted students are good in English and Maths but they are doing not too well in their Chinese...Academic comparison in the end still the core 4 subjects (English, Maths, Science and MT) i guess.... -
