DBS online banking was down for almost two days. This has caused me great inconvenience. I wonder if the online rumors of DBS being hacked by overseas hackers are true. Very hard to imagine Singapore’s most tech savvy bank to have its online banking services down for two days.

What’s worse, over the weekend, I was notified by SingPost to make payment of $3.19 to top up for an overseas parcel stuck with Sing Post. The SingPost directed me to make an online payment and I was naive enough to key in my credit card details!! 😢 😢 😢

My children told me it could be a scam and it caused me sleepless nights since then. And with DBS online banking down, I couldn’t even check whether my credit card has been hacked!!!

Very scary. Now cannot even make any online purchase without being worried about being hacked.
Quick call the bank & suspend activity. If I hv GIRO arrangements or others, switch to ano card.

I’ve a couple of transfers I need to do on DBS online banking and all waiting. Annoying.

I have received DHL/SPF/MOH calls before but I knew they were scams.

However, when I received the SingPost SMS, I thought my parcel (I ordered something last week) was really stuck so I clicked on the link to top up $3.19.

DBS online banking down for few days really caused much inconvenience for many. I check for unauthorized transactions every day. So far like nothing. Hope my credit card won’t be hacked!

DBS PayNow was not working ytd off and on…tried to pay tutor but either too slow or got kicked out halfway or kept prompting 2FA multiple times. I finally got thru in the late evening.

Singpost would never ask the recipient to top up money to receive a parcel. The sender is supposed to pay all charges upfront otherwise Singpost won’t even handle it. I always ignore those.

You should terminate the credit card you used to do the top up immediately. It's painful, I know, but it must be done so that you won't be made responsible for any illegal transactions made.

I went to Sing Post Jurong Point branch this morning to ask the staff there personally and the staff there told me that it is a SCAMMER as they don't do that and I was not the first person asking them this question today. Could you immediately inform your bank and deactivate your credit card.

I have received parcels with a note that the postage is insufficient, so they will be delivered as a gesture of goodwill.

                      Best report and cancel card.

Yes, it is better to report it and cancel the card.

By the way, how does post offices around the world work? Isn’t it the responsibility of the post office at the origin country to ensure that postage is sufficient?
