For nygh affiliation, the last person admitted last year was 8M. The last person admitted with no affiliation last year was 7M.
Last year COP for both RGS and NYHS = 261 but why the AL COP is 6 and 7M respectively and not both 6? Is 7M due to affiliation and we should assume 6 for non affiliated kids?
..As for why it was also 261, it is likely due to the addition of Higher Chinese bonus points as NYGH is a SAP school. -

261-2 = 259 = AL7
RI COP 259 = AL6
MGS COP 257 = AL6 -
Hi My DD scored AL 9 . Is it risk to put 1. NJC (cop 7)
2. Crescent (cop 11)
3. Swiss ( cop 11).
I am staying in west. Pls advise if I put NJC as first choice, is it a risk?
Also bit confused between swiss and crescent. Which would be a better ?
Tks in advance. -

Last year, last child admitted to RV was 9D, NH was 11D. So I’ll say good chance you’re going to RV with 8, if RV is top of your list.
Hi Parents. What's the chances for AL8 to RVHS and NHHS? Thanks for your advice!
However, you should take note that RV is IP/SAP, whereas NH is express/SAP. Most IP/SAP requires you to do Higher Chinese by default, at express/SAP you will have a choice. -

Interesting, but confusing problem. It doesn't make much sense for the local student to get VS since that is not what he wants. I thought the tie-breakers come into play only when the 2 students have the same schools at the same priority level? ie. both of them specify VS as their 1st choice??
Yes, very confusing. My guess is that there would be some programming in the algorithm that would \"override\" the \"logic loop\", and the end outcome should hopefully be \"Foreigner gets Victoria IP (his first choice)\" and \"local student gets Dunman High (his first choice)\". Again, I am guessing so I might be wrong. :xedfingers:
Someone above just made a good pt that the last student determines the COP. In this case, VS COP is 8 (it doesn’t matter what’s DHS COP). The local student will get VS (citizenship higher priority than order of choices) while foreign student will go to DHS.iRabbit\" post_id=\"2048476\" time=\"1637857265\" user_id=\"51587:
I came up with a simpler example.
Suppose two students, one local and one foreigner, competing for last seat in Dunman High and Victoria.
The foreigner has AL 8D and his choices are
1. Victoria IP
2. Dunman High
The local student has AL 8M and his choices are
1. Dunman High
2. Victoria
Who goes to which school?
From Dunman High perspective, 8D is better than 8M so 8D should get it. From Victoria perspective, local student has priority so the local student should get it.
Or, MOE can let both students go to their first choice and everyone is happy
Edit: see below for S1 posting priority

High chance of going into crescent with a 9. NJ is for a chance to win Toto/4D, since you will have no problem going into your 2nd choice, Crescent.

.. Crescent is a pure express stream school, whereas Swiss there’s NA and NT students. As we move towards SBB, the lines will be blurred. There’s pros and there’s cons. I’ve no insider information as my kids do not go to school there. -

2 points off from NJC’s simulated COP does indeed seem risky.

- if u put Crescent Girls as first choice, definitely get in. Have not heard ANY bad reviews about this school, plenty of good reviews
- Swiss Cottage: not sure about Express stream, but seems like the good reviews are for the NA and NT teachers
- not considering St Margaret’s or Fairfield? -

Hi DD scored AL 9. We are staying in west.pls advise if my choice of order is wrong.
1.NJC (cop 7)
2. Crescent (11)
3. Swiss (11 )
4. Commonwealth ( 12)
5. Bukit panjang (11)
6. St.Magret (12)
Is NJC wrong choice for us or can I just give a try.
Also confused between choice of crescent and swiss. Which would be the better choice.
Pls Advise. -

The foreigner scored better than the local student. So he should get the priority regardless of whether it is VS or Dunman. Or am I confused :scratchhead:

Oh wait... Dunman is a SAP school while VS is not... so I think you are right.
