Don't you wish there is a web service where you just put in your AL score and your address and up pops your 6 nearest secondary schools that you can apply to? 😂 It doesn't seem to be so difficult to build.
Yes, I was thinking along that line too!

        Input home and/or office address/AL/Higher Chinese/SAP or non-sap/co-ed or no/any special CCA.

I suppose it's because secondary schools are not tied to distance from home, so even if the school is in timbuktu land, people will still go for it. But still, I think this is a good service to get that initial feel.

On a higher level, consider also if IP-ALevels or IP-IB is more suitable for your child, if SAP or non-SAP is more conducive for your child’s learning.

This year, ESiS eligibility is AL5, foreign language eligibility AL8. Likely means that AL4/5 okay for RI/RGS, AL8 or less okay for IP.

Ya lor. Haha Timbuktu. Little do they know that they have to travel there for 6 years… and when parents run out of gas after 1-2 years, the teens will have to manage that traveling themselves.

Don't you wish there is a web service where you just put in your AL score and your address and up pops your 6 nearest secondary schools that you can apply to? 😂 It doesn't seem to be so difficult to build.
I think Straits Times has some such interactive tool (or was that for P1 registration?) but it was a lousy one cos the recommendations were not quite the best.

Maybe KSP can build a better one!

Isnt MOE schoolfinder doing this already?

So I input Toa Payoh and up pops:
                    - CHIJ Toa Payoh (next door but my child is a boy)
                    - Beatty Secondary (actually at Braddell but ok got direct bus down)
                    - St Andrew’s Secondary (actually at Potong Pasir MRT, NEL)
                    - Maris Stella High (actually at Bartley MRT, CCL)
                    - Bartley Secondary (actually at Bartley MRT, CCL)
                    - Cedar Girls’ Secondary (again…)

                    Suuuuuuper useful.

On the other hand, I have 4 direct buses to SJI, which is only 18 min away including walking (2 bus stops’ journey). But it is zoned under Novena by MOE.

Quite good, but they still put affi school range
I input AL12-14 ang mo kio
SNGS, CHS are still appeared because the range is still within for their affiliated primary.
