I think dismissal time (1+pm) there is no ERP but then I am not too sure about the timings now due to changes due to Covid (and also WFH). Also now ERP seems to be off most days due to Covid (and WFH).
If you’re planning on driving to school, remember to check ERP timings (especially around dismissal times). The Wilkie location is within ERP zone if I recall correctly.[/quote]
However, that said, Wilkie road campus won't be the focus as SMPS is now located at Mattar road until Jan 2024 when they move back. Hence even if there is ERP, it won't happen in 2022 and 2023
But for me, if ERP is back on as normal (back to pre Covid time), I would be affected as I stay at Mount Sophia and thus morning ERP I will be hit as I drive my girl to school and back home it would still be within the morning ERP timing :slapshead: -
Just to give some perspective of my experience with SMPS as my gal is currently in P1 now.
Generally, the teachers have been very nurturing. They provides lots of opportunities for the gals to grow in the area of leadership and they do put in good effort to observe the gals and provide constructive inputs to the parents.
As a mission school, I like the culture of the school and best of all it has affiliation to its secondary school which is a plus point. -

That was what I was told too. Is it very jammed up in the mornings at Mattar Road?

good day to all kiasu parents :), my daughter just received the confirmation call to join this rich traditional school (P4) in year2022, as we are staying in the Sophia Hills, wondering if there any parents can do the carpool to the school in the morning? since the school bus is really too earlier for the kid to wake up

Hi all,
I am considering SMPS vs CHIJ Kellock for Phase 2C and I am currently out of 2KM for both schools. Am choosing these schools because they are girls school, and are affiliated to secondary schools.
If SMPS is a better school, then I would consider moving to be nearer the school to improve my chances. If no difference btw the two, then I might choose CHIJ Kellock as I understand SCs have high chances to get in.
Does anyone have any views on how these two schools compare? Thank you! -

Yes, is very jammed after 7 am. There is an alternative drop off and pick up at Blk 125 Aljunied Road carpark. Your gal can enter via SMPS gate 4. Do note during peak period will be slightly jammed as well

My elder gal completed PSLE 4 year ago and the younger one just received the PSLE results under the new AL scoring. Both didn’t move on to St Margaret Secondary as both prefer to have a changed of environment and knowing new friends in the secondary school. Majority of the gals continue with SMSS due to wanting to be with their friends.
I have no regrets getting my elder gal into SMPS by clocking 40 hours of volunteering route and sending and fetching them from school even thought we are not staying near the former and present school area.
Generally the school teachers are caring and go easily on academic to the lower primary and thereafter gearing up at P5 and P6 preparing the gals for PSLE. Be prepared to have more homework and regular test from P5 onwards.
Just to shared as you may heard the Math paper for this year PSLE was tougher than expected and my gal shared that the school principal, form and co form teacher goes to the class after the paper and comforted the whole class. -

May I know if anyone has this year’s PSLE results for SMPSS to share please? -

If you observe the registration for the last 5 years, you are right in that St Margaret is definitely more popular than CHIJ Kellock. It usually requires balloting in Phase 2C but the balloting tends to be mild, and don't forget that Phase 2C will increase by 20 seats next year. If you choose CHIJ Kellock, it should be a shoo in for Phase 2C. The thing is, if you choose St Margaret for Phase 2C and is unluckily balloted out in Phase 2C, you might face balloting in CHIJ Kellock in Phase 2CS! Difficult choice. I would go to the schools physically to examine them myself to see if it is really worth the risk.
