      Yes, there is quite little time for us to purchase the books for P4. For example, my son's school bookstore sets the final date for collection/home delivery on 15 Dec. This means I have to order the books soon.

      Really hope that the results will be released soon.
      Indeed. Most, if not all, of us are pretty much stuck in this 'suspended' situation now, just waiting and waiting for a yes or no outcome. Certainly not a very pleasant way to be spending the year end holidays. πŸ˜… I would really love to be able to move on with our lives, be it in the mainstream or GEP. Can't wait for this to be over asap! πŸ€žπŸ™πŸ˜‹

        Is it - GEP kids do not need to buy textbooks?

        Teacher will issue notes instead.

          I saw the school booklist for P4 GEP programme Year 2022, the students still need to buy textbooks, activity books, files and exercise books etc.

            They still have booklist, lesser compare to mainstream.

              I’m sure the P4 (regardless GEP or mainstream) teachers will understand if child starts first week of school without uniform or books.

                Given that there is only a 1 to 10 chance of getting selected, I went ahead to buy books and uniforms to save myself from the stress. I looked at the booklist for GEP as well - actually GEP students will still need to buy books for Chinese, Science, Social Studies and PE. So the only books that will be "wasted" are the Maths, Moral Ed textbooks, music and exercise books, but can always use them for reference.

                  Most subjects are worksheet based, but they will still need 2 storybook for English, full set of textbook and workbooks for Mother Tongue, textbooks for Social Studies at least, coupled with FTGP, PE book and student handbook. Plus lots of different files designated for the various subjects. Whatever the case, the kids will need new books, just more for mainstream and less for GEP. More things to buy for transfer students, unless the schools want them to turn up in their old school uniforms? Like in the 1st 3 months of JC?

                        Hi,

                        While waiting for GEP results next week, I have a question regarding GEP maths curriculum.
                        DS is the opposite of many students. He is strong in English not Maths. We are surprised he made it through the first round. Does anyone know how difficult Maths will be in GEP program?
                        We don’t want him to suffer in a class filled with math olympiad top scorers :{

                        End day is still PSLE results that matters.

                        Thank you!
