      MOE requested for 2 email addresses and 2 phone numbers. The onus is on the parent to provide accurate info. I think MOE would also require a response from the parent to acknowledge the email. If all goes wrong, the sch will contact the parent, wouldn’t they?

        In previous year, MOE used to inform for both selected or rejected. Likely they will follow the same practice.

          It’s good to sign up for Olympiad Maths class if the school provides such curriculum . It’s a very good training . I created a blog to document my P3 boy learning journey , especially in Maths . It’s called “Conquering Singapore Education System”. I shared some good tips and hope you benefit from it too .

            Yes… MOE started to inform parents, both ways, either selected or not selected. Hope they will continue the same practice, so parents don’t have to call them to confirm/ask.

              Any recommendations for Olympiad training centres?

                Wow! Good job 👏🏻 👏🏻👏🏻

                I just browsed through your site. It seems like u have pretty much home schooled your child way ahead of what the school covers. How do u find time to do that!?

                  Hmm not all GEP kids are good at every subject. It’s not uncommon for some kids to be much stronger in one subject compared to the others. That being said, GEP math curriculum is quite heavy, and the lessons are usually pretty fast. The number of worksheets a year is easily more than 100. Again I think the underlying assumption is that kids who are considered academically gifted learn new concepts fast enough to cope at that kind of pace.

                  Hi,
                  While waiting for GEP results next week, I have a question regarding GEP maths curriculum.
                  DS is the opposite of many students. He is strong in English not Maths. We are surprised he made it through the first round. Does anyone know how difficult Maths will be in GEP program?
                  We don't want him to suffer in a class filled with math olympiad top scorers :{

                  End day is still PSLE results that matters.

                  Thank you!

                    He attended the Olympiad class organised by the school.
                    They engaged the 3rd party to teach too. It’s called Maths Hub , http://www.mathshub.com.sg.
                    2 hours per class, total 15x lessons, only S$100 . I think the school got a very good rate.

                      I only use Intensive Maths Drill books, basically just 2 pages each day . Less than 30 minutes, trust me, they spend more time at playing fortnite, Roblox, Minecraft , watching video clip like SSundee, Prestonplaz…. Gosh , they really spent too much time on screen !

                        Well done sir. Seems like we have some things in common. My girls are P6 and P3. For us though, the focus is to enjoy the learning process rather than syllabus. For maths, have also gotten my P3 to do P6 prelims papers too, and we learn all through doing questions only. I don’t let her to be too conscious of her scores, anything more than 75% is already outstanding to me

                        While my P6 is dilligent, my P3 is brilliant but lazy. So we do things that are more fun. For Eg in this holidays, she is trying to memorize the periodic table through a song (search YouTube for periodic table song). Totally off syllabus, but as long as she likes it and if it makes her ask more questions, I consider it a successful experiment 😁
