Well, this marks the end of an exercise. Whether your child gets \"in\" or not is not the end goal. The fact is, you can all be proud to be the parents of the most brilliant/unique students in Singapore. So treasure them all. Reward them with some ice-cream

Closure at last. Now can enjoy the holidays without this hanging over our heads! It was a great experience for the kids to be exposed to the process, and for us parents too! Thanks for all the help and advice here, so thankful to have a community of parents.

Well, this marks the end of an exercise. Whether your child gets \"in\" or not is not the end goal. Reward them with some ice-cream my daughter gets to stay on n be happy with her friends and teachers. Just hoping that this doesnt set her back n not to have that mindset 'she's not good enough'.

I think you may use this opportunity to teach your kids that their own value (whether they are good or not) is not dependent on any external factors, such as exams or other people’s comments, etc.

Congrats on those whose child is accepted and also to those whose child didn’t, as it’s still amazing that they have come so far, gone through very challenging tests at such a young tender age.
I would like to seek some advice. My child is P3 next year. He’s very strong in his Maths and Science. We sent him for a cognitive assessment and his IQ is classified as Extremely high on WISC-V. I know that high IQ doesn’t exactly translate to him getting into GEP. He finds school boring now and the psychologist says it will do him good if he gets into GEP. In the meantime I do not intend to have any extra classes for him as he had always been, except for Chinese classes. He only does Maths Olympiad Books on his own occasionally last year. I would like him to be familiar with GEP tests when the tests draw nearer, somewhere 2 or 3 months before the screening tests. Are there resources to introduce / 3rd party schools that do that? Thanks all. -
