      Hi everyone!

Is there somewhere I can see the breakdown of home-school distance for phase 2A for the past years?

Due to the new rule of combing 2A1 and 2A2, and moving 20 seats to 2C, I will now need to consider buying an apartment near my preferred primary school MGS (which I’m an alumni at).

However, I want to weigh my risk of me buying something that is 1-2km instead of sticking <1km - cause this will open up a lot more options for me. Can someone advise me please? Thank you!

So far MGS quite safe in 2A, so 1-2km is probably sure in.

Ahhh, thanks for pointing me to these links. I will go study them. Just worried that moving 20 seats to Phase 2C will affect the upcoming availabilities. Cause I realise none of the tables show how many within 2A1 and 2A2 in the past years were within 1km or 1-2km - as in there are no breakdowns.

            Hihi

May I know where can I find the balloting history for Phase 2C St Margaret Primary school? I have the recent years but do not have Year 2018 and before. I like to know if SCs are subjected to ballot before 2019. Thanks.

Attached is the P1 registration data for St Margaret's. Essentially, it is the ratio of the
number of applicants (application rate) over the number of places in that phase.
Naturally anything below 1.0 would mean that the number of applicants is lesser than the number of places for that phase. NULL simply means that there is no more places for applicants in that phase.

So it would seem that St Margaret is very open in Phase 2A1 and 2A2, and generally ok in Phase 2B as the highest it got was 0.8529 in 2013. But it almost always requires balloting in Phase 2C for all years except for 2019 and 2016. And if it escapes balloting in Phase 2C, it did require balloting in Phase 2CS in 2019.

Thank you so much for the speedy replies!! I am a SC aiming for Phase 2C and I was hoping to see data to confirm my belief that SCs rarely need to ballot. Even in an exceptional year that SCs need to ballot, it is for those > 2km.

The link is very useful and shed more light. I can see 2017 and before. The missing data point is now 2018, the dragon year.
