Breakfast provided daily. Other meals provided: Lunch 4 days, Dinner 1 day.

So we need to pay for our own lunch 2 days, dinner 5 days.

Tickets to National Palace Museum n Leofoo Village are provided.

4 trips to night mkts (Ximenting, Feng Jia, Shihlin, Rao He) - dinner on our own.

would like to let u know abt the meals which the agencies provided
for the previous trip of mine, though our tour mates booked fr diff agencies in Spore,
we were then grouped together under the same Taiwan's agency.

breakfast ----- so so only,
almost every hotel provides the same kinda of food,
bread, scambled egg, noodles, cabbage (dun know y, every breakfast also served cabbage, but must admit their cabbage was tastier than ours)
and there is one hotel, whereby they only served porridge for breakfast....
me first time taking porridge for breakfast

lunch ------ rice and dishes, ( to me , also so so only, mostly veg)
oh ya, their soup....the same kind of soup throughout several lunches

dinner -----there was one dinner, the dishes were not to most of our tour mates' liking, we had to order fried rice to fill our stomach

all in all, though we have seen so many wonderful dishes featured in TV when they introduced Taiwan,
their restaurant food .....can't measure up to spore std

when we were there (also June period), it rained almost everyday
u can also buy the raincoat at their 7 eleven (but really long and big size)

I think for foodwise, as long as Chinese food is served, it shld be ok for #2 and I. Cant be worse than my bland cooking We also prefer lotsa veg, no meat is ok too. That's why I chose this package instead of the other agencies that feature seafood/chicken feast.

We like bread n cakes too :celebrate: Anyway special shops we shld go?

I went to WTS to collect the stuff ytd, was surprised to learn that WTS will get a staff to assist us at the airport, then we are on our own till we reach Taipei airport where a guide will be there to receive us. Is this the same for your case? And I am tasked to hand over the e-tickets to this Taiwan guide. This is my first time taking a tour package :oops: so very blur how they work.

solli, cannot remember the names of the bakery shops…
Not to mention the names of the shops, I can’t even remember the city where they are located
As I toured the whole island,
fr Taipei, Hualien, Kaoshiung, Taichung, Tainan...etc

Anyway, suggest u just drop in the bakery shops along the street esp those nicely decorated shops,
Some do offer sampling
(I heard that breadtalk’s boss went to Taiwan to learn b4 opening their shops in spore)

really missed their bread and cakes there....

When we were there, a taiwanese tour guide came to look for us
but he was very late.....so a grp of us went to the infomation counter to enquire and waited for him there (u need to know the name of the tour agency there)

tell u first, it will be a very tiring trip......
almost every nite, i slept ard 1 to 2 a.m with some earlier nites ard 12 midnite
becos there were many packing to do
the next day,u'll need to check out the hotel at 7 a.m
so had to wake up ard 6 a.m

if u are going to Alishan.....hahaha
u need to check out yr hotel by 4.30 a.m
(actually our trip inclusive of Alishan, but becos of the weather, pouring rain,
they afraid that there might be a landslide so the tour guide cancelled the trip)

oh......i love their chicken chop at shilin night market.......

some of my other grp members would extend their night market shopping hrs, was told that they returned to their hotel only at 2 a.m......

although the itinerary included ALishan, we din have the chance to visit ALishan
as it had been raining, the roads were closed, afraid of land slides.
also good lah, otherwise, the tour guide told us that to travel up to Alishan, we had to checked out fr the hotel at 4.30a.m.......hahaha....crazy mann.... :shock:

b4 going there, i did some HW researching on their local food
there was a very gd review of their famous \"Ah Chong Mien Xian\" at ximenting
there was really a long Q in front of the shop......mostly the taiwanese
even the tour guide told us....\"U must try, otherwise, u'll regret\"

when i was Qing, i was imagining how \"fanastic\" the mien xian could be...... :rahrah:

but....but...i tell u....the first mouth......i wanna to vomit......
the smell of the pig intestine was so strong (at least to me and my gal)
still wondering why the taiwanese love those pig intestines so much
along many night market, it's a norm to find many stalls selling pig intestine food stuff........ :? (passed by, also cannot stand the smell)

ya…only 1 type, no other ingredients


i couldn’t stand the smell…though the tour guide highly recommended it
and u would have to Q like 20-30 mins for it

I thought of F&E tour (4D in Aug) with following places.


1) Leofoo Village (Hsinchu)
2) Fantasy World (Hsinchu)
3) Windon on China (TaoYuan) - recommended by Jennifer in 1st page.
4) Shopping (Wu Fen Pu, as someone here recommended)
5) Eating (Shilin, famous for chicken cutlet)

But how to go? I know the theme park website has directions but is it easy?

Based on above, has to change hotel daily?

How to go about planning the itinery?

Is there Taiwan local agency that can bring to these places? I checked taiwan tour bus company, they don’t have theme park tours.

Um, you can order the intestines-less version. I think there's supposed to be oysters inside (can't recall).

I don't take innards but otherwise love mian xian. So I got the i-less one, slurped very bit of it.

It depends on how much you want to be free and easy. But there is alot of planning that need to goes with it. Transport is one of the key. The train are pretty comprehensive, and from train station you can always take a taxi to your destination. I suggest you plan a base, either in Hsinchu or Taoyuan, and then plan your destination from your base. 4Days I will suggest to stay in one place and take day tour.
