I'm not sure there will be another of the same. Maybe another type of vaccine? But really, since Covid has lots its teeth for the vaccinated, and the 4th jab doesn't seem to do much, they may just leave it as 3 with optional boosters. And they will stop the Trace Together checkins eventually.
Hopefully, as I see no purpose for the trace together checkins now. I feel like the covid vaccination will be similar to the flu vaccination, that it might become a yearly affair.

If the 04th jab (next round of booster) is free of charge, why not just go to take it when it is available?

Introducing additional things into the body if there is no reasonable upside - I think I wouldn't bother.

Also, I think it's a waste of resources if the upside is not significant - not just the vaccine production, but also the medical staff time, logistics etc. Better to spend that effort and money on vaccinating the rest of the world, or finding a better long-term protocol, or better vaccine, or just preparing for the next pandemic.

Yes... and I think they are continuing to improve so that there will be another vaccine available to counter omicron in 3 months. So it's better to wait for that than simply shooting ourselves with something that doesn't work.

Those working in the same industry as are me strongly encouraged to take the flu jab every year. It is not mandatory currently but I think it may just be a matter of time that they require staff to be vaccinated yearly for flu since we are handling young children.

Wonder if they will come up with a 2-in1. Flu + covid vaccine. No need to jab so many times. Babies have their X-in-1 jabs where 1 jab various vaccines are introduced into their system. DS had a many-in-1(cannot remember how many) at 1yr old cos he missed many jabs due to his asthma before that.

If I remember correctly we had those 5 or 6 in 1 too as we need to quickly complete it for travelling.

As of now, if Annual jab is required maybe considered ‘lucky’?

I am not a medical expert (most of us here also not) and don't know whether the 04th jab is \"no reasonable upside or doesn't work\". In case, the Government is offering us the 04th jab, I believe those medical experts in the MOH must agree that the 04th jab is necessary for Singaporeans. I will just take it following the advice from the Government.
So far so good, I don't have any side effect from all jabs that I took before.

I think OYK did address this early this month.

                      4. Now that we must get a third dose to get our vaccination status extended, does that mean there will be a fourth, fifth, sixth dose?

Israel is the only country so far to administer a fourth dose to people who are not immunocompromised.

It is too early to answer that question. If we look at an endemic disease such as influenza, people take annual vaccines to protect themselves. This is because the influenza virus keeps mutating so a new vaccine dose is necessary every year.

So whether we need future Covid-19 vaccine doses depends on how fast the protection from three doses wanes and whether the virus keeps mutating.

There’s no urgency at this point. Omicron really doesn’t seem that scary for triple-vaccinated persons and double-vaccinated teens. Have friends (Including dc’s classmate) who got Omicron during their recent VTL trips to EU/US but they have already auto-recovered during home isolation and are well & kicking now. It’s just a couple of days of fever, runny nose, cold symptoms or no symptoms at all, esp for teens. Now their immunity is purportedly very high so they might not require any Dose 3 or 4 at all.

For me, I’ll only resort to taking my 4th dose 2 weeks before my next year-end vacation. And if my destinations have very low infection rate and are well-boosted by then, I might not even take it at all.

I believe it’ll be back to the SOP practised decades ago when we SG travellers had to take selected vaccines or tablets X weeks before we flew to ‘‘hardship destinations’’ like South Asia, Africa, South America, etc. I mentioned here before I was made to take some vaccines at a polyclinic in the early 90s shortly before departing to some backward cities where certain WHO infectious diseases were common. This could be the norm going fwd.

When I’m not travelling, I don’t see the need to take any 4th dose. If I take too early, my antibodies might have waned by the time I fly in Nov-Dec.
