What to do with CNY plastic containers?

Hari Raya is coming. Maybe friends or colleagues who bake may need them?

I have seen many "mozaic" art made from various recycled materials by creative people. Perhaps NAFA or LASALLE art students may want it? Those containers are good for storing brushes and materials for crafts too.

Maybe preschools may appreciate them to store their art n craft supplies?

Perhaps can put in Carousel to give away?

Asked my preschool teacher friends - everyone has too many already. Not sure about who would want them for recycling. Putting them on Carousell sounds like a good idea.

But it seems a pity to cut them up when they've only been used once. Reusing would be less wasteful - maybe those who sell the goodies should be required to take the containers back. Or maybe there should be \"greener\" ways to package the goodies.

Agreed. Personally feel the goodies can be packaged in plastic bags (eg sellers provide choice of no container packaging or with plastic container packaging at a higher price) instead since most people will already have containers to transfer into. At least the plastic bags can be recycled for throwing things.

Does anyone know what we can do with CNY plastic containers (the ones with red or metal-look screw-on lids)? It seems very wasteful to use once and then chuck in the recycling bin. I usually keep a few to reuse for storing stuff, but every year, I have to chuck quite a few. Suggestions?

I've already tried asking a few people who bake a lot, but everyone is already overwhelmed with too many such containers. The problem is also that they are in assorted sizes and styles, with labels stuck on, so someone who bakes to sell won't want them.

Thanks! I'll wait till we've finished consuming the snacks (could take several more weeks!) then put them up as a job lot.
