Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) Updates

I understood these:
- if see doctor and tested positive, clinic will inform MOH
- if self ART tested positive, stay home 72 hours. Employee inform company; students inform school. Company/school will inform MOH.
Unless the ART positive is neither working or students (very small number), MOH will be informed. So I think large majority of positive cases will not go unreported. -

In reality that's not happening. My friends daughter informed sch but her TT status is still vaccinated and no HRW issued to close contacts.

Not all companies will inform MOH. Only those who are under some kind of mandatory testing and reporting regime are required to do so. Other companies are not asked to report positive cases among their staff. And the guideline for workplaces only says that staff are \"encouraged\" to test weekly, not a must.

So my guess is that quite a no. of cases go unreported. Exactly how many, who knows? And I don't think it really matters all that much now. Those at higher risk will just have to take more precautions. -

Hi all, I'm the owner of SG Quarantine Order Support Group, realised that our group link was being shared here as we saw an influx of members/parents in the last 12 hours.

To further add on to Estéema's post, we actually have more than 10 pediatricians in our group manning our paeds sub group, and another sub group manned by two OBGYN doctors for pregnant mummies.
There are many parents joining our group in the last one month as well due to Omicron hitting many kids.
If the site admin/owner finds our group useful for the parents here, let me know whether we can work something out to help the parents here.

I think informing school/employer (those self-tested ART +ve and on Protocol 2?) will simply result in being added to the daily count.
In reality that's not happening. My friends daughter informed sch but her TT status is still vaccinated and no HRW issued to close contacts.
Does not mean MOH will update TT or issue HRW. I think those are only done if person is PCR +ve.
In any case, why would anyone want to be issued HRW? So troublesome. Either way (whether or not you receive/dont receive HRW) the best thing you (fully vaccinated + boosted) can and should do is to up your Vitamin C intake and rest more to keep your immunity high.
Endemic living aka treat it as a normal flu. Basically that’s what we are doing isnt it. -

And just to add 1 more precaution - Try to avoid meeting the vulnerable in your family/contacts during that 7 days (because you will probably remove your mask during those meetings), or at the very least make sure you test negative before you do. If you go to places were you remain masked, the risk to others is low.

That's probably a precaution we should take with any infectious disease, Covid or not. -

Thank you for your suggestion. That’s a good idea if the ART kits continues to be OOS. Thankfully, this morning BIL managed to buy some fr NTUC outlet at Telok Blangah & brought to us as DH need to use before his mtg at Sentosa. We’re only going to family doc’s this pm to do LPA & will get a few more packs.
Do you have friends or relatives with more tests? SOS them to standby to let you have a couple of test kits if you run out. You can return new kits when you buy more. My parents rarely go out so don't use their kits, and my daughters are given packs from their workplaces, so they are our standby supply (so far we haven't run out). But we will keep proper accounting and replace what we \"borrow\". -

Sounds like most symptoms we had but were negative after this morning’s ART. Will continue to monitor ourselves.
For the Omicron variant, which accounts for most of the reported cases now, this is from MOH:
Common symptoms reported include sore throat, tiredness and cough.

When I reported my ART result was positive to my company, they immediately reported my case to MOM because MOM requires all staff who are working in office to do ART test every week. I believe the reason behind is MOM needs to know how many staff are on MC or absent from work and to what extent this Omicron Covid 19 will affect the whole workforce and labor productivity of Singapore.

Because my case was reported, so from Feb 2022, I don't need to do any ART test and submit any result to my company for the time being even I am working in my office as I am immune for 180 days. I believe I will not be invited for the 04th booster jab (if any) by MOH for these 180 days.
