Have not heard anything like that.. It’s sounds quite unlikely that annotation is not allowed.

Lol. Math itself is full of annotations. ±*/=>< to begin with. So banning all annotations from Math is simply banning Math. The kids will all go… yay!!

You have to be more specific.

Below is an example of DS making annotations on the Math question paper(s). He checked with teacher today & he said it is not banned (no news to his school from MOE/SEAB).

In fact the teachers (all subjects) have been insisting that the kids make such annotations in order to “tidy up” in their mind how to do the question before actually attempting it. I find that it helps a great deal to improve the marks scored, definitely hope MOE doesnt ban it.

All credit to him (none of my nagging worked lol) - he has come a long way since P1P2 when he absolutely hated doing those Stellar Handwriting hw which required them to write precisely between the dotted lines. Somehow along the way he was spurred to improve when the boys have friendly competitions to see whose handwriting is neater.

He is motivated by peers. Hope to see him go to same secondary school as his good-influence kakis.

Yes those Stellar handwriting assignments are a pain.. I’m so glad our school got rid of it. I didn’t see them this year.

Being in the right clique will be helpful, there’s a lot of peer pressure these days.

Perhaps his teacher was saying that there’s no marks allocated for annotation… so no need to be so detailed, especially for those 1 mark questions… I know some kids annotate so much they have no time to complete the paper.
