I just had kopi with a couple of my very long time friends. Both recovered from covid. One of them is just visiting from the US. According to them, the PCR tests will continue to test positive for 90 days even though the ART self tests are negative! But I think the rules are being relaxed now such that the ex-covid patient goes through the VTL in a breeze while someone who has NOT gotten the disease has to go through lots of tests 😓 .

I'm feeling a little left out of the action. 😂

Those inbound to SIN who have not gotten the virus need not undergo so many tests also. Just the overseas 48h PDT (ART or PCR up to you) to board the aircraft. Upon arrival, you must take OAT in SIN (QTC) which has become the cheaper ART within 24h.

Option 1: The 7-90 days inclusive is good for people as it helps them save on extended hotel stay, should they get infected abroad. If you get infected on 1 Feb, you just stay isolated in your hotel until 7 Feb, and can fly back on 8 Feb just by flashing that +ve test report (OR a discharge memo which is very tedious to get unless you're on biz trip where your company doctor can issue you with that official document) issued by the foreign health authority/pharmacy to the check-in counter staff. You can board straight away.

Option 2: If you want to come home earlier than 7 days, sure, you can do so as well, provided you are tested -ve 72h post-diagnosis. However, you are still subject to OAT in SIN as well as Days 2-7 ART (if -ve in the morning, then you can go about your activities in the day).

We welcomed 330k visitors here from Jan-Dec 2021. HK had 91K I think.

          I also want HRNs 😢
Why? Heard now HRN only entitles u to 3 kits (1 pack) from the vending machine.

          Previously I got 6 kits.

You'll only get HRN if your friend/relative/colleague/teacher nominates you in the system.

I guess a lot depends on your level of nABs, natural immunity and recency of your vaccination? Some friends' wifey and kid were tested +ve, but they themselves didn't get it despite sleeping together still... 😆

Like my DC sat with the C+ friend to eat during recess--maskless of course--but didn't get it. Another recess buddy got it as the C+ friend coughed whilst eating.
Not sure why, but I did space out DC's dose interval to so-called ''sweet spot'' of 7-8 weeks and unlike most school teens, mine took D2 closer to Sep hols. Is a mystery to us.

But the green one really doesn't offer much benefit (and isn't included in the free mask handout). And the household income threshold for the orange and blue cards is quite low. I would think that many people won't qualify for Orange or blue unless they have many non-earners in their household.
Emoh, zeal mummy and slmkhoo. Thanks for your replies.

6 kits was during HRW and duration was 7 days.

HRN is now 3 kits because testing is only when you go out and duration is 5 days.

                HRN is based on nomination?
So it means it is an infected close contact which the TT app or token records plus nominated by the infected person? It mapped my first experience but not my second.

My second time HRN apparently was a complete stranger cos nobody I knew now that I have come into contact the past few days were tested C+. HRN usually dispatches immediately right, within 24 hours? :scratchhead:

You take care and try to drink more water and rest well. In case you are infected, you should be able to recover fast.
Try not to go for any non - essential gatherings these few days.[/quote]
                  Thank you!
Yup! I live my life quite simplified for now.

Think I saw at NTUC, lots of Ukraine white shell eggs but nobody touched them. Think also sooner or later need to dump!!
                    ...
Guess no more Ukrainian eggs for quite some time.

May I check, if a person is still tested positive on the 8th day and still went back to school or work because ‘government say can go back’, is the risk of infecting others still quite Low as per medical research ( if any)? Asking as I felt a bit uneasy still, though I am hearing more of such cases around me……

This is a guideline for myself.

If a C+ person is still positive after 7 days:
                        1. but have no symptoms, go to work or school but ensure mask up at all times, meaning even eating try to go to a corner and eat alone first. Keep the 1m safe distance

                        2. but have mild symptoms like cough from the Covid not chronic cough, then stay home a bit longer till ART is negative because you will scare everyone around you for sure when you cough. (gotta discuss with employer and school)

                        3. have symptoms that need to see a doctor, then PLEASE STAY AT HOME until full recovery. (this is pretty straight forward that work and school should be stopped)

The other consideration is the industry we work in. If the industry is in touch with many people or vulnerable people, then it's better to stay away until ART is negative...this is then dependent on the employer to decide.....eg. F&B industry or nursing home industry... I think it's best they do not serve food to people if they are still C+ or take care of the vulnerable if they are still C+
