First isolated her at home as soon as she tested positive. Then did the supervised test as soon as they opened and requested for external isolation. In about 24 hours , MOH arranged for her to move to isolation facility.

But given that just one day before she had symptoms, she had changed all the bedspreads...
may i ask where or how to request for an external isolation? Do we need to pay for helper staying in the isolation facility?

This is ''concerning'' (though I hate this word).

Researchers from the New York State Department of Health found the ability of the vaccine to protect children who got the lowest dose — kids ages 5 to 11 — from catching the virus dropped the most, falling from 68% to just 12%. Those children received an injection containing just 10 milligrams, one-third of the dose given to older children, adolescents and adults.

Meanwhile, the effectiveness in children ages 12 to 17, who got the same 30-milligram dose as adults, showed a smaller decline, dropping from 66% to 51%.

Oh yes, we’re all masks up at home. Can hear DH’s tough breathing thro the masks. It’s tough for him esp he’s usually the stronger man around the house.
              Boil liang teh and drink...
Also recently I bought some Luo han guo soft candy from a big Watson store but I forgot which one now...there was a variety of herbal soft candy and they were so effective to prevent a sore throat from happening. I am not ill but everything we eat somehow is quite drying so these soft candies help.

But if you need to ease a real sore throat, try this...very effective for us....I was pleasantly surprised that it worked better than the doctor's lozenges. 老字号 Vicks! Steady...

Not exactly surprised because I hear more preschoolers are catching the virus here and running fevers....that's why KKH has difficulty coping with the volume of cases. I suppose they needed to balance the strength of the dose for this age group to be on the safe side but did not realise that Omicron mutation could hit this age group so easily when the previous strains did not get pass down to them much.

Anybody following the covid crisis in HK?
The 9 day ''lockdown'' for mandatory 3x PCR testings will take place this month. Schools have been closed for many weeks. During the interim, whilst mainland helpers are busy erecting the quarantine facilities at the cruise terminal, property tycoons are sprucing up their hotel rooms, newly built public housing's prepping vacant units, the HK govt has kindly allowed residents to use RAT for home testings and to submit their C+ results online. They have also ordered hundreds of millions of RAT to be distributed to residents for free.

                  :offtopic:
What stood out in HK during this 2-year pandemic are the 两鎹饭 or 三鎹饭 stalls aka Singapore's Econ Rice / 什菜饭 stalls. Apparently, it was common in the 1960s when HK had a lot of odd job labourers depicted in Sam Hui's 《半斤八兩》!

Since the 80s, we hadn't seen Hongkongers eating econ rice anymore in downtown areas (except the industrial districts in the new territories). We mostly saw proper cafes, yum cha restaurants and cha chaan tengs in town. Econ rice stalls seemed to be non-existent there until 2020! Yes, there were nicely compartmentalised side dishes in bento takeouts in the 00s for PMEs working OT, but nothing like haphazard heaps of 2/3 dishes piled onto white rice in a styrofoam box.

With frequent ad hoc bans on dine-in due to Covid, many former chefs have started operating Econ rice stalls out of shop spaces, exactly the same as those we have had in Singapore kopitiams for years. As we know, Hongkonger/Cantonese are ultra fussy eaters who want freshly cooked food, and are particular about 'wok hey'. Precooked buffet style dishes heated for hours on stainless steel catering trays are almost 'sacrilegious'.

Oh, our only very effective sore throat helper is the ginseng slices. Once we put 2 slices in our mouth, it soothes the throat with no more coaching. We don’t chew it & it lubricates our mouth till morning. This is a tip I picked up fr how Mdm Kwa wld put ginseng slices for LKY to lubricate his throat during campaigning when there’s little time to drink. Maybe that’s why he don’t talk as much as he smiles/grins. Daytime, we’ll do a variety of lemongrass & blue pea with a squeeze of lemon fr garden. S’times we do the Roselle drink

But I think the best for recovery is good rest.

                      Take care esteema...

And I was with dd2 for vaccination there I was told that is not 1/3 of adult dosage, internet info is wrong...oh really?? Till now we still read that right..anyways that is ok..but the effective rate..is getting low

Guess I may just come in to chk on what to do next when it happens..

On the liang teh, I guess we need be a bit more careful as some may make our body too liang which may results in worsening cough..

We been on quite 'junk' food meals for many days. Today boiled half of what I usually make, some herbal soups hope can strengthen body in a way.

Take care all..it is really getting near..

Can i say that once infected, the chance of reinfected will be lower, assuming an adult who is fully vaccinated including the booster dose?
