I do wonder if the cases are really coming down or it’s just that more people are not reporting or bothering to go to the clinics.

I am seeing more cases around me this 1 mth compared to previous months. In Jan/Feb, I hear of like 1 family a week infected at most. But I am receiving almost daily updates of cases and most say home tested ART positive this month. Most are not going to doctor as symptoms are manageable and on 7th day if still positive they can be out and about already.

Very few reported long covid symptoms. Some actually turning negative as soon as day 4, my niece for instance. Most turn negative around day 10 and some experience lingering cough for about 2-3weeks.

Well, if people can't be bothered to report, it's still good news as it means people have learnt to live with covid. Most of my relatives who got it was ok within less than a week. I'm sure the 1m figure of people who got covid in Singapore is grossly undercounted. I'm just hoping my covid shots still lasts me till I get covid 🙂

For my side, still hearing people around getting C…school side quite muted till I will jokingly ask them any teacher wearing double mask lol.

Btw, do you all think it is a courtesy to let the people you having appt with knows in advance that they have say someone serving quarantine at home coz near to a C+ ? I just encountered one incidence who only told me that after we talked for a while…best is asked me remove mask earlier on…the rating of this person in me plunged…I was not afraid as I continue with the meeting but I think it is a courtesy to let the other party knows first before meeting up, right? Or am I still living an outdated life?

Some are very nice I think…if they have any hint of symptoms will do ART test before meeting up in the group. Tell us during meeting but say taken ART test before meeting and can see from body language want to maintain social distancing.

If a person is under HRN, he/she should do the ART test with the result negative before he/she can come out to meet other people. But if people don't follow the protocol, we also cannot do anything 🤷

I just wonder what is the rating of me in you?

In this case, that person meeting you is already 2 steps removed from a C+ case - that would mean just about everyone would have to inform anyone they meet!
[C+ case] --- [HRN person] --- [person meeting you]

Even the person serving HRN only needs to test negative before going out (no quarantine required). The person meeting you is not even required to test. So I think it's not necessary to inform.

I'm glad that more people aren't reporting - it means that Covid is becoming milder. If there were more seriously sick, the hospitals would know! Over the past few days, there were only 20+ Covid cases in ICU. It means that we are nearer herd immunity than the numbers would indicate, and maybe the PM is going to promise some more relaxations when he speaks later today. Fingers crossed!

Yes, I am hearing \"HRN\" very often now, and some places are imposing more restrictions than necessary, which is a nuisance. Legacy of pre-vaccination days.

I think MKS was referring to people who have a C+ family member quarantining at home. Whether or not they were issued a HRN,

i think out of courtesy they “should” inform whoever they meet up with, prior to unmasking.

(Myself I would go a step further and ask my friend/acquaintance whether they are comfortable meeting me, give them an option to postpone until the C+ case has recovered).

If your example of my family member has HRN from being in contact outside the house & is testing -ve, I should be free to go out and meet whoever, no need to inform ba.

I'm afraid that is the very reason why we have this outbreak in the first place. There are people who think that they are not infectious. And most of us will not want to divulge our C+ history once we have recovered.

We just live with it. Just assume everyone you meet have covid and take the necessary precautions. You may even have got it and recovered, unknowingly.

Live again and be free. That doesn't mean we take off our masks and party like we used to. It means we stop worrying about covid, knowing that most people who get it will recover within a few days.

I agree with everything you said except the line in bold....why won't divulge? :? Isn't it good to share the experience with others especially those who have not had it to know what to expect.

We should live without worries about Covid but we still have to act responsibly to do all the necessary because as long as we have no more vaccine in us anymore to take on this virus, the exposure is actually high. We forget because we are vaccinated and start to act complacent. And we have no easy way to detect how much vaccine protection we have remaining in us because everything is based on general statistics and hence a guide on timeframe. Everyone's body is different and the efficacy therefore lasts differently as well.....so please do not be complacent as if the body is \"Covid-bullet-proof\".

The other thing is everyone seemed to feel so comfortable with Omicron because it seemed mild on vaccinated cases but did anyone remember that Omicron likely came from a HIV patient according to the SA scientists? :scratchhead:

I know they can go out even c+ tested ART- b4 the 7th day…am I right? It is ok to go out nobody has the right to stop you…what I meant was if go out run errands etc not with someone close proximity in an enclosed space…it is alright (ba). But if not, shouldn’t we just out of courtesy let the other party knows … at least give a chance to the other party to tighten the mask etc? I will do that coz I m not living in isolation not only need take care myself.I may be unintentionally and indirectly affect a vulnerable person…
