Can share the home-school distance of parents who were selected for RGPS interview? Curious if distance matters…

Distance would matter for Phase 2B in case there is a ballotin situation. For Raffles Girls', however, the only time people needed to ballot in Phase 2B was in 2011, for those staying outside of 2km. So I guess it's just a formality for you to report where you stay, just in case.

Even with the reduction of 20 places in Phase 2A, it is very unlikely this would impact Phase 2B. You should be safe no matter where you live in Singapore for Phase 2B

Unlike schools like NYPS, RGPS doesn't require P2B parents to be living within 1 or 2km as there is no risk of balloting under P2B. So distance will not be a factor when it comes to RGPS PV selections.

There used to be SOZO education near RGPS. Does anyone know where did it move to?

Based on our collective knowledge (a group of 8 mommies who applied for PV), location has no bearing in the selection. Some of us are selected even though we stay in the east. Some are within 1km but are not selected. So we know that distance was not a criteria used for PV selection.

Thank you for sharing! This should encourage more parents to volunteer their services at 2B.

Yes, but for those schools which always require balloting in Phase 2B, I'm sure location is taken into consideration so that parents staying far away don't waste their time and effort.

In any case, thanks for letting us know about the situation in RGS! -

Thanks for your analysis. How about the change in allocation ratio of the remaining seats after 2A from 50:50 P2B:P2C become 1/3:2/3 for P2B:P2C. Will that affect your forecast? a bit worried about this change though

Hmm... that's interesting. I've not really thought about it before. I'll run some tests on the data and we shall see, but I don't think it will affect RGS much.
